The Sheiling is a simply stunning, lakeside property resting in the rural location of Rudyard, overlooking the beautiful Rudyard Lake. With off-road parking, a close by yacht club for launching boats, and a hot tub, this immaculate abode welcomes families, groups of couples, and friends, plus their four-legged companion, to enjoy an unforgettable escape to Staffordshire. When sleep calls, there are three well-presented bedrooms with storage and TVs to choose from, as well as a sleek ground-floor and first-floor shower room. Choose between a ground-floor twin and ground-floor double, and there is also the option of a first-floor king-size with the added bonus of a freestanding bath. When the sun is shining, head out to dine alfresco, making use of the barbecue and the selection of sitting areas, each maximizing the views, or there is the option of an indulgent dip in the hot tub. Biddulph Moor is a lovely village situated in Staffordshire. The village offers a convenience store for all of your essentials, as well as a local pub, The Rose & Crown, and the close by Biddulph offers more options, as well as walks at National Trust - Biddulph Grange Garden and Greenway Bank Country Park. From here you can visit Mow Cop Castle, and other attractions include Kingsley Bird & Falconry Centre, Peak Wildlife Park, and action-packed days out at Alton Towers. The village rests close to the beautiful Peak District National Park, an ideal location for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and birdwatching. Walks include those at Three Shires Head, Thor's Cave, The Roaches, Kinder Scout, and Dovedale. Check out the caves at Poole's Cavern, or enjoy the views and sunsets from Mam Tor.     The views of the lake are incredible, even on rainy days. And on those rainy days there was nothing nicer than lighting the log burner and settling down with a good book. The house itself is gorgeous, finished to a high standard, with some lovely touches (thanks for the fizz). The hot tub was a fantastic bonus. I wish we'd booked for longer, just what was needed to recharge the batteries.

    The extra touches such as special biscuits, milk and prosecco were lovely. Hosts were extremely helpful yet not invasive. A perfect holiday.
