What our customers say about their holidays

  • Robert - Verified booking

This cottage was not what we expected.

Firstly dog friendly does not mean dog ready, we had to leave are dogs on the leads for alot of the stay as the property was not secure all the gates were bar gates evenn the on e to the main Rd. The others were to fields and paddocks with horses in them. We had to watch our dogs 24/7 incase the wandered into the horse field or went out to the rd. So not relaxing atall. Then the cottage itself ...all the doors in to it were very difficult to open as they scrapped on the floorings especially the kitchen door(main). Then the TV described as sky in the blurb was freesat and the remotes didn't work properly. There was only a high level shelf to put our clothes on and hang from. And this, was mounted on one side of the bed that you had th duck under to get in and out of bed. The bathroom!!!Well were do you start the floor was lifting and water damaged due to a leak we believe was still on the bath overflow as we had a big puddle at bathtime. The tiles around the bath were all coming away, literally if you knocked one the row would come off. There was no rubber seal on the shower screen , so the water would end up on the floor. There was mould on shower tiles and 4 inches of the wall near floor. The t.rail had burnt out the stat at some point so they just taped it up and left it permanently on full(major fire hazard). All the garden furniture was extremely weathered and the garden was in need of amw and weed, and the main garden light did not work. The carpet in the lounge even though the cottage allowed dogs was very dirty, it needed a major shampoo. The lounge definitely would be described as tired even the couch wasn't over comfortable...Not a good and pleasant stay.

    Perfect in every way!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful holiday home with us. Cottage was situated down a remote country lane, right on the estuary, with its own little beach, exceptionally quiet and peacefully. Perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. Amazing walks directly from the cottage, as it’s on the Anglesey Coastal Path. The cottage has the advantage of the lounge having panoramic floor to ceiling windows so you feel as though you are sat outside when in the lounge, we loved watching the tide roll in! The owners had provided everything we could have needed for a holiday stay, plenty of cutlery, cooking equipment etc, although we didn’t cook as we ate out, but I’m sure we wouldn’t have struggled if we’d decided to eat in. Beds were comfortable and shower was the best we’ve ever had in a rental property!!! We also enjoyed the fact the property had its own private garden, which was lovely for our puppy to enjoy. It benefited from garden table and chairs too, which was great in the evenings. RAF Valley is nearby and we really enjoyed watching the jets flying by - a real novelty and definitely a bonus! Anglesey is such a perfect place - we enjoyed Rib Ride boat trip down the Menai Straits, horse riding at Anglesey Riding Centre, swimming and walking at local beaches, karting and lots more! We can recommend The White Eagle, The Boat House, The Ship and Dylan’s to eat out at and for little extras needed there’s a large Tesco in Holyhead. Thank you for a perfect holiday .

This is a lovely bungalow clean and modern.

We wanted a peaceful location which over the weekend was lovely. On Monday morning we got woken at 8am by fighter jets from the RAF base which we hadn't realised and nobody had pointed out was just over hill. They were taking off landing formation flying this is really loud and goes on every day from 8am until after 5pm or later. My little dog was terrified. If you like an air show and don't mind the noise this is for you. The garden is supposed to be enclosed but it's not this wasn't a problem with y dog as she didn't really want to go in the garden during the day because of the noise. There were four very large dogs that continually wandered in the garden sometimes all at once and if the door was open rampaged round the bungalow while we tried to get them out. If the garden had been enclosed this wouldn't have happened and we wouldn't have had to clean up after them. The private road to this property is shale and a dirt track. To get rid of your rubbish you and to walk past the caravans to put it in and enclosed skip but when you opened the shutter it was full of flies not a good experience in the warm weather we had. The path down to the beach is quite steep and over grown being pensioners we didn't attempt it but kids would love it. We wouldn't book this cottage again and we don't feel as if we've had a holiday we left on Thursday lunch time couldn't wait to get home. If we could move the bungalow elsewhere it would be perfect.

Lovely location to explore Angelsea, although the cottage could do with an upgrade.

Val the owner made herself available to us immediately as we arrived. Unfortunately, we did needed to clean the walls/beamed areas we could reach as there were lots of long standing cobwebs/spiders. Not good when you are agoraphobic but can be kept on top of with regular dusting. We did find mould on the shower head and tiles in bathroom which we managed to clean most off. The bedding is in need of an upgrade. The guest beds upstairs were not usable and the cottage itself has an overall stale odour. The garden area has changed a lot since the photos on holiday let site. You can catch the sun in the mornings but the trees provide lots of shade on the patio area. The furniture shown in pics is longer available, although there are 2 rattan effect set of chairs and small table now. We did almost step into pony manure on our first day and we noticed the ponies were put to pasture in the guest garden area one day, so that would explain. The ponies were cute and friendly. The resident dog paid daily visits and he was a friendly guy but there was various dog mess in the upper part of the garden, which put us off sitting there in the sun. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay and cut our holiday short, although lots of positive comments in the guest book. It was just not for us and needs some TLC and good housekeeping.

This property is situated in a nice part of Wales but we personally found that it is not equipped to suit a family of 4 comfortably.

The 2 bedrooms do not contain a wardrobe only drawers and limited wall hangers. The kitchen had insufficient utensil equipment, lacked in main storage space and the living area did not have traditional home comforts and needs updating. Getting to the property from the single track road is full of deep pot holes and desperately needs urgent maintenance. I had to reverse my vehicle all the way from the residential caravan site to the rental property as the owner of the property did not want me to use their grounds to turn my vehicle around so as I could park my vehicle safely nor was there adequate space at the caravan site to leave my vehicle and walk to the property. As a family, we did not feel welcome by the property owner, and on one particular day I was out walking with my grandson and was immediately approached by the host to tell me that we were not allowed to enter her property grounds as it is a private road. I respected this but at the same time found the host to be rude and arrogant. When I looked at Google maps it looks like a ring road which I did mention to her and as I was renting a property on a private road to start with, I was unaware of any further restrictions. Overall, the property had a nice outdoor patio area with lovely views towards Snowdonia range but I would not rent this property again.
