What our customers say about their holidays

  • Audrie - Verified booking

We had a lovely weekend at 4 Arthur Terrace, it is very deceiving how big this cottage is and there is everything you could need here.

We had 5 adults and a dog and there was plenty of room for all of us. The process for picking up the keys and all the information the owner sends you are really simple and super helpful. Having a carpark at the rear of the property is great. The cottage is done to a high standard e.g the quality of flooring, fixtures etc The kitchen has everything and plenty of it, Great shower, comfy beds, large bath towels which we all commented on as there's nothing worse than a towel that covers only half of you! Great rear yard/garden. The village of Penmachno is super friendly, the Eagle pub is very welcoming and does great food and the local shop has anything you might need. Within a short drive you have the Conwy waterfall walk, Betsy coed and Llanwrst. The only things i would point out for my open and honest review is the TV is tiny in the living room, the stairs are very creaky and the front of the cottage needs a tidy but these did not impact our weekend and would not put me off booking again. Thankyou 4 Arthur Terrace and Penmachno for a lovely weekend, it was a lovely little break that was enjoyed by me and my family and just what we all needed.

This will be shared with the property owner. The ratings just don't go high enough for how incredible 4 Arthur Terrace really is. From the moment you arrive you're overwhelmed by how truly amazing the cottage and surroundings are. We spent a week with our dog at the cottage and can't recommend it enough to our family and friends. Really clean, all the home comforts and most importantly lovely comfy beds. Along with a lovely welcome pack that came in extremely handy. We enjoyed the local shop only being a couple minutes walk and the pub, especially the beer garden! The owners couldn't of been more helpful and we will certainly be staying again soon! Would you like us to publish your feedback? Really enjoyed our stay here.

The hot weather made it even better. This house is particularly spacious although it doesn't look it from the outside. The added bonus of a car park at the rear where there is always space. Not used to so many steps outside and of course inside only because we live in a bungalow and they made our legs ache!! Well furnished with a very well equipped kitchen with loads of gadgets. Beds were comfortable with good quality bed linen which I dare say was new or seemed new. The village is very picturesque with great walks in all directions especially at the back. There is a pub and a shop, however if you're not desparate for bits and pieces DO NOT buy from the shop the owner was quite offhand/rude and prices are a complete rip off, wait until you go into a town. Once bitten twice shy as they say.... Would always consider a return stay although sadly no mobile reception!

We’ve booked several cottages over the years and I would say this one was ok but there is definitely room for improvement.

I think customers should be informed that the TV reception is very poor. We had none all week over Christmas and although there was Netflix, this was a shame. The cottage was very cold on arrival but after putting on the electric fires, the fuse board kept tripping (several times). The kitchen tap dripped constantly and the oven (and extractor fan) had not been cleaned in a while and consequently smoked when turned on! Parking outside the cottage was difficult (a ‘no parking sign, on the gate would be helpful) as neighbours put out bollards outside theirs, forcing you to park 200 yards away. For privacy, it would have been nice to have blinds up at the bathroom window and the window at the top of the stairs. Having said all that, the bed was comfy and the lounge was cosy when the fire was lit.

Property is tired and not the cleanest.

Comfy enough though and good garden for dogs. As a cottage that allows dogs it would be helpful if the information folder noted local dog walks. There is no mention at all of the local pub in the information only a couple of places further afield. The local pub is friendly but is rarely open as its hours are very short and food served is only for a couple of hours friday and saturday so this information may be of benefit to others. I used to rent a cottage out and kept on top of it so it was always fresh so maybe I am a bit picky. There is a lovely stove which is starting to rust when a coat of heat resistent paint can be applied in ten minutes once a year to keep it looking good. Its the little things. Very friendly locals in the area and we enjoyed our stay.
