What our customers say about their holidays

The Hayloft was perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Really attentive hosts, we arrived to find milk, bread, and cake left for us which was incredibly thoughtful. We spent every evening in the hot tub, just enjoying the peace. Some of the towels left for us were stained which was disappointing, but overall the cleanliness was good, and the bedroom is so gorgeous. The pub across the road is so friendly, with an unexpectedly large vegetarian menu. I spent all week drinking whinberry gin, so lovely! We took our dogs for beautiful walks right on the doorstep, no need to drive anywhere. Such a lovely area. We fully utilised having the shop across the road, and again were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked it was and the variety of products. We were, however, quite shocked to walk in one day to hear a conversation between a shopkeeper and some locals that was transphobic and quite homophobic. It was made even worse when they tried to include us in this derogatory conversation. Though this has nothing to do with the holiday property, it may be worth noting if you're planning a stay. Again, this is of no fault to the hosts; we loved staying at the Hayloft and were sad for our holiday to end. We had such a great time

Not happy at all with this property.
Central heating was abysmal, was constantly switching off due to the boiler switch being flicked overnight. This occurred every night we stayed. I specifically requested the hot tub area to be prepared for use upon arrival, hot tub was prepared but there was no garden light whatsoever so hot tub was rendered useless at night time. No TV in the bedroom, had to borrow the TV from the living room. Toilet seat was cracked, and bathroom was too cold to use at times due to the central heating issue. I booked my stay for 7 nights, but cut it short to just 4 nights because of the terrible experience - requested a full refund from the owner but that was denied - was only compensated less than half of what I originally paid for the booking (even though the property owner constantly had to come and sort out the heating issue) so was not happy at all about the experience overall. I will never be booking here again, and I would never recommend anybody to stay here (unless you like living in a fridge-freezer). Horrible, horrible experience. 0/10.

Loved the sea view and Ilfracombe was a good central location to explore bays & beaches in the area. The property was was comfortable and clean & parking out the front not too much trouble. Fees only started at 10am in the morning & finished by 6pm at night. We usually lucked a carpark there at night without having to trek up the hill. The seagull chorus reminded us we were at the seaside. Handy convenience store just a short walk down the high street. Nice coffee at Annie & the Flint. Massive Tesco at top of the hill if needed. Favourite cafes...Beachcomber in Woolacombe with a stunning view and Blue Groove in Croyde. Did a great day trip to Hartland Abbey where Prince William had his stag. Awesome gardens, house tour and incredible coast. Also a day trip to Lynton & Lynmouth where we took the funicular railway. Fab time all round!

I have just returned from a short break at the Hayloft with my daughter.
Truly lovely, very relaxing, and everything provided that you could need! The kitchen is well equipped, the bed so comfortable with lovely bedding, comfortable sofas, games and DVD's ... everything you would want for a relaxing break in that beautiful part of the UK. And to top it off, the pub is literally a 30 second walk away! And it's a country pub, so not loud or rowdy, but just friendly with amazing food! And there is a little shop next door to the pub which appears to sell everything! Yes, I would thoroughly recommend a stay in the Hayloft, it's amazing!! Oh, and the hot tub is pretty good too!

This cosy conversion is ideal for a couple.
The kitchen/dining area is well equipped, the small sitting room is comforting and the bedroom has ample drawer space and an adequate built-in wardrobe. The bed itself is large and comfortable and the room has a good view. The secluded hot tub and contained patio garden with barbeque is a bonus. There is a welcoming pub right across the road  serving excellent food and its adjoining tiny shop is a department store in miniature. The setting is dramatic and the surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty invites exploration.  But don't just believe this... try it for yourselves. Â
