  Everything I hoped for and more If you love a shepherd's hut, you will be no stranger to compromise.

  Not here!! From the double barn door entrance, the big comfy bed, full size breakfast bar, oven and fridge, to the underfloor heating, radiators, hot shower and big fluffy towels, everything is superbly thought out. The ample, fully enclosed garden is perfect for dogs, the view is beautiful and the remote, peaceful location is idyllic. The welcome hampers are always a lovely touch and at Utopia I found it was exceptionally generous. I spent a week here working and relaxing in equal measure. The WiFi and phone signal is super reliable. I even logged in to my Netflix account for a cosy movie in bed on the swivel mounted tv. Freshingfield dog park is just a 12- minute drive away if you need an enclosed space to wear your canine companion out, off lead. A great winter get away from the hustle of everyday life and I would love to return in the spring/summer without the work laptop, to explore the area on foot. In summary and in comparison to my experience of similar properties, Utopia is a cut above.

  My friends & I go away every year and we all agreed this was the best cottage to date.

  The house is beautiful and ticks all our key cottage boxes; hot tub (huge), real fire, close to country pubs (a short drive) country walks & ample sofas (the amount of places that don’t have enough sofas for the number of people they sleep is madness). It’s also dog friendly, there’s multiple bathrooms/toilets, even a mini garden with a beautiful fish pond (great for a morning coffee) in addition to the main. It’s quiet and we slept like logs. The main garden was also great for star gazing given little light pollution in the area (also great from the hot tub with a glass of fizz). Parking was also great as we have 4 cars which all easily fit on the guest drive. Whilst slightly tricky to find, once there it’s easy. The owners Michelle & Stephen are lovely and were quick to respond when we had a query, they couldn’t be any more helpful, plus provided welcome fizz & milk. We loved our weekend and have discussed returning, it was perfect.

  This is a beautiful, very spacious property and is probably one of the best equipped that we've ever stayed at. The owners have been incredibly thoughtful in setting up the place providing, for example, a special outside bin for dog waste, an enclosed garden that's safe for the dog to roam, a doggy welcome pack (plus some human welcome goods too!), dog towel plus plenty of information about the place and the area. They are available but not intrusive at all and are clearly dog lovers. Sisland is a tiny hamlet and the barn is surrounded by fields and farmland (plus an amazing old church) so it is very peaceful and there are some lovely walks from the barn. Shops are a five minute drive away and there are plenty of places to visit nearby. We rarely return to the same place twice, but intend returning here.

  After a stressful few months this was just the place to unwind and relax.

  The Shepherds Hut is idyllic. I could Quite happily have stayed forever. The tranquil gardens were the icing on the cake. Such a peaceful location but close enough to Southwold, Framlingham and Halesworth. Our hosts were lovely. We had a lovely welcome basket and a warm Welcome came in a personalised card. I really loved that our privacy was respected, no contact but Diana was there if needed. I cannot recommend UTOPIA highly enough. I would happily return and was so happy with it that I told my daughter all about it and she booked herself a weekend immediately! If you’re looking for a peaceful Break with your own space (I’m sure the garden is a beautiful haven in the summer) this is the place to be! Thank you Diana, we will return!

  What a superb place to stay. We have stayed in many cottages over the years with our dogs and this is the only one that is EXACTLY as described. A spotless clean, peaceful place to stay which was equipped to the highest standard, for both humans and dogs ! We cannot thank the owners enough for a wonderful stay. Great location, with lovely walks from the Barn itself ,or good walks a little further afield if you want to explore. We have had a much needed restful week and enjoyed watching the barn owl and woodpecker from the patio ,good walks both locally and a little further a field and excellent food at the Kings Head,Brooke as recommended by the owners. We hope to be back very soon.
