What our customers say about their holidays

  • John - Verified booking

First impressions were poor due to dead plants outside the front door and the garden had some weeds growing around the edges.

Inside there was very little detailed cleaning, dirty wine glasses in cupboard, microwave stained/dirty inside and outside, oven needs thorough cleaning between customers, kitchen door handles stained, mirrors and shower screen had not been cleaned properly. Noticed 3 drawers had small bits of rubbish and there was so much dust on all skirting boards and tops of wardrobes. The bathroom floor needs some repairs and there was lots of mould around the edge of the shower. Quite a few of the rooms have cracks that need painting over. Most of the local information left in the lounge was a few years old. The house has many good features, great location, good beds, towels, welcome tray, etc. but our overall impression was the owners just did not seem to care enough and rely on customers to do most their own cleaning. Certainly not value for money on this occasion and we will be looking at other companies for our next break in October.

We are frequent visitors to Warkworth and the North East, and all of our family were within walking distance of one another. Our grandchildren loves calling at their cousin’s holiday homes.Victoria cottage provided us all with comfort and living space for grandparents, parents and children. It is our best holiday home yet in terms of provision, decoration and attention to detail. I loved the art work. Our first holiday home in the North East was a touring caravan placed in a field in Alnmouth. Happy days! (37 years ago). So we have kept returning and building family memories evert since. Now we even have a private sand dune on the beach. The people of the North East are a particularly welcoming and warm people. This is very much the case at Warkworth Golf Club where visitors are most welcome. Of course we shall be returning after another memorable week.Thank you for allowing us to stay in Victoria Cottage.

We’ve just come back from a restful week in the house.

Everything we could have needed during our stay was there. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well. Wifi was strong allowing my son to work from ‘home’. We loved sitting by the sun hut having morning coffee and our springer puppy loved being outside. The only slight issue we had was that the cut holes in the fencing were a little large and she had to be pulled back before she performed her famous Houdini act. The house is literally only a minutes walk from the beach and we spent a lot of our time enjoying walks along it, seeing only a handful of people. There is a drive to park 1 car on but on a couple of occasions found it difficult to manoeuvre on and off it due to the number of cars parked on the road. Marske has lots of little shops within 5 minutes walk of the house. We hope to return soon and have already started looking at dates.

From the minute we arrived we were blown away by the quality and the attention to detail of Seahouse.

The property was toasty warm and smelt clean! The accommodation was spacious but cosey enough also. The garden was prefect for our cocker spaniel, it was dog safe. The biggest positive for us was the close proximity to the beach! Perfect for two boys who wanted to go paddling in the North Sea in November! It was just a quick stroll down (approx 150yards) to the beach was really clean and dog friendly. We walked into Redcar along the beach which was a lovely flat walk and took approx 1.5hrs. We all agreed we can’t wait to come back again next year, possibly in the summer to take full advantage of the decked area and garden house, I would imagine it’s a bit of a sun trap! Thanks you so much we have a lovely time x

Very comfortable property in good location.

A few minutes from the beach but no sea view , except from the attic bedroom. We were unfortunate with the weather but were very warm and comfortable, good beds, plenty of hot water , heating etc. Only slight disappointment was the 'summer house' which we were hoping to use but despite the weather may not have done as not very attractive, with no view. Nice welcome pack, places to eat in Marske and interesting places within easy reach. Good cliff walk to Saltburn, although we were in heavy sea fret , similar walk to Redcar but the latter is not really worth the visit. Sorry to end on a negative note as in spite of the weather we enjoyed the week.
