What our customers say about their holidays

We were unfortunately let down on a cottage booking we had made on line with another provider. We contacted Coquet and they couldn’t have been more helpful, all the staff I’ve spoken to had been so friendly and helpful. We booked Seaview in Craster as it was just were we wanted to go, booked on the Sunday and arrived on the Monday so very short notice. Arrived at Seaview and what a lovely surprise to have a welcome box for us and the dog waiting along with fresh flowers! In the box there is bottled water, bottle of wine, beer, tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits, fresh loaf, conserves as well as fresh milk and butter in the fridge! The Dog bag had towels, treat and poop bags. Just an illustration of the effort they go to and the thought put in. Seaview is a fantastic cottage set over 3 floors and finished to a very high standard. Lovely big conservatory, great kitchen with all you need (including a big range cooker). Lovely living room with log burner. 1st floor a double and a twin bedroom, a huge family bathroom with large bath and a wet room shower, sink and toilet. Up to the 2nd floor in the converted loft, there is a big double with en-suite, shower wet room with sink and toilet. Parking for 2 cars outside with a couple of outside places to sit and enjoy the peace and quite. The Ship Inn bar/restaurant is 2 minutes walk and Craster village with its bar and restaurants is about 10 minutes walk. Loads to do in the area and the people are very welcoming. Will definitely be using Coquet gain to book and would highly recommend them.

We loved the location of the Beach House.
Here is our true and honest feedback, please note that the work in progress points would not stop us booking again and is to only highlight that if these issues were corrected it would enhance future guests experience. Good points Location - Amazing sea views from everywhere. Very warm and comfortable Lots of equipment Beds wonderfully comfortable and great quality duvets Work in progress points Flies- There was dead and live flies in the house everyday, considering it was December we had no idea where they were coming from. We did report this. Fire- The flame effect fire did not work. The house was wonderfully warm, so for heat this was not a problem, but it would have been lovely for ambiance. Cobwebs and attention to detail to housekeeping. The house was clean so this is just a comment to get the housekeeper to look up and under curtains as we found sweets on floor and many cobwebs on the ceiling, as well as about twenty dead flies on the floor by front door when we first arrived. No hand soap in the toilets This would have been really useful for cleanliness The curtains in the leaving room did not close. The bracket on the curtain rail stopped the curtains. No Christmas decorations - Whilst this was not advertised, everywhere else we have stayed in mid December put up a tree and this would be a lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Begonia House is a comfortable, spacious holiday cottage with lovely sea views.
However the doors for both the top floor WC and en-suite shower room stick, making exiting difficult. Ground floor bathroom door doesnât close at all, making privacy impossible. There needs to be a clear warning about the fierceness of the ground floor shower, also. We would have appreciated knowing about parking difficulties beforehand. Online photos suggest thereâs parking outside the property but this isnât possible due to the very narrow private road, and residents cars and plant pots. Even loading/unloading is extremely difficult. A note in the house suggested on street parking in Alnmouth by guests would be preferred, but in reality availability is very limited. Advance notice of this should be given. Whilst overall the house is very clean, we did find on arrival dog hair all over the ground floor beds, including on pillows and sheets, and a maggot stuck to a coffee cup in the kitchen cupboard. Finally, whilst we were a few minutes late leaving as we needed to carry luggage to a parking space some distance away, the cleaner with their family and children arrived at 10am wanting access to the property. This made our exit feel stressful & rushed.

Fantastic property very clean and well equipped .
We have stayed previously at nearby properties . lovely and light and well designed Loads of crockery, a few kitchen essentials missing, grater, scissors, larger serving/ stirring spoons and spatulas . lots of other stuff available Vacuum cleaner was broken, sorry usually we vacuum before we leave . Non recycling waste bin was full presumably had not been put out for collection the previous week, maybe needs checking at the end of each week as this was very full and smelly, not good Would benefit from the usual file of property information , emergency numbers, inventory, instructions all in one place in one grab file . We had to play hunt the instructions . This would mean that for example bin collection days are highlighted. No inventory means you cant check what's supposed to be there window cleaners appeared without notice one day, maybe emphasis they should speak to anyone in the property / ring the bell if someone is there not just let themselves in at the back and start work frankly that was not polite overall a brilliant stay and the above did not distract from an amazing property

Location is amazing.
Right on the estuary. You can sit back and watch the tide come in and go out in comfort. Itâs so peaceful and quiet. Time is forgotten. House is big, modern and comfortable. Felt like a home from home, loads of lovely touches. Garden area small but cute and you donât need it as you have a huge beach on your doorstep. Off road parking for 1 car, multiple free spaces outside of the property, albeit it does get busy but people move on quickly. WIFI was decent, sky tv, really good heating. Main bed comfortable, canât comment on others. Shower in main bathroom strong. Plenty of towels provided. Only constructive feedback is that it could do with a good deep clean as lots of dog hairs and dust but get that itâs a busy property with minimal turn around time. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. Could do with some decorating in some areas too (living room wall fireplace) but this is minor and did not impact our stay at all. We would 100% come back here. It really is a beautiful home and we could relax in peace and quiet.
