The outdoor fire pit and garden are popular features, and the property's rural charm adds to the relaxing experience. The house's character and the attentive housekeeper contribute to a memorable stay, despite some minor maintenance issues.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the property clean and well-prepared for their arrival, with fresh and tidy bedrooms. However, some noted issues with flies, cobwebs, and dust in certain areas, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness and consistency of cleaning.

The location is consistently lauded for its beautiful views, tranquillity, and proximity to nature and local attractions. The rural setting provides a peaceful retreat with opportunities for walks and wildlife spotting, contributing to a highly positive experience.

The lodge is generally considered comfortable, with ample space, cosy living areas, and a warm kitchen. Some guests mentioned issues with heating in certain rooms and heavy doors, but overall, the comfort level is high, especially with the provision of extra heaters.

Facilities are well-regarded, particularly for accommodating large groups, with a well-stocked kitchen and multiple fridges. Some guests pointed out maintenance issues like blocked showers, difficult locks, and the need for more en suites. The presence of a caretaker is a positive aspect, although better signage and minor repairs could enhance the experience.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches such as a welcome hamper, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere, although it's noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. The provision of wood for the fire pit and the caretaker's helpfulness also reflect consideration for guests' comfort.

Quiet, cozy, so many areas to write and chat and read. A fantastically equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms for people to be comfortable. Some people said their beds were comfortable. Others could use new mattresses. But other than that, plenty of towels, scenery for days, areas to sit outside, and the host was easy to reach when needed. Would 10/10 stay again. We were all incredibly sad to leave and will have fond memories forever.

The bedrooms were spacious - some also had beautiful views - and there were plenty of clean, well-functioning bathrooms. The kitchen was also well equipped. We made use of the many seating areas, including the outside terrace with beautiful sunset views. The area surrounding the Lodge provided a few options for walks, including many kinds of wildlife to keep us interested, and the kids enjoyed Hide and Seek in the expansive garden. Would highly recommend!

The house was just perfect and the weather was great so we could enjoy sitting out at the fire pit in the evenings.
