The Apple Shed is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comfortable and spacious accommodation, friendly owners, and peaceful location. Guests enjoy the hot tub, garden, and the property's suitability for disabled visitors. While some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests planning to return.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, though there were a few mentions of cobwebs, window sills, and a smell of damp in some areas. The bathrooms were generally clean, but some guests suggested improvements.
The location is appreciated for its tranquillity and convenience for visiting nearby attractions. It is described as peaceful and private, with easy access to local amenities and tourist spots. However, some guests noted difficulty in finding the property due to a lack of signage.
Guests consistently praise the comfort of the beds and the spaciousness of the rooms. The property is described as airy and the en suite facilities are appreciated. However, some guests mentioned low sofas and the need for handrails for those with mobility issues.
The facilities, including the hot tub and garden, are highlights for many guests. However, there are several mentions of issues with TV reception, a non-working washing machine, and the need for better maintenance. The lack of a secure garden for dogs was also a concern for some.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts that would fall under this category. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness.
Approached by quiet, rural country roads in a peaceful and tranquil setting, and then accessed via a long driveway, sits this contemporary bungalow within several acres of the owner’s land. The Apple Shed can be found nestled on the outskirts of Wisbech, and provides a lovely base for families and friends to come together and enjoy this serene location. This room will become the social hub of the property, beautifully presented with neutral tones and plenty of natural lighting, it is a modern space for cooking and socialising in the evening. Gather at the dining table to enjoy a lovingly-prepared home-cooked meal, or take the evening outside and enjoy the scenic countryside, sipping on a glass of wine and toasting to a long-awaited getaway. As you look to rest, there are three neatly presented bedrooms to choose from, including two king-size rooms with en-suite wetrooms, and a twin with zip/link beds (can be a super-king-size on request) with an en-suite shower. Each of the bedrooms feature a neutral colour scheme and wardrobe space for your personal belongings. A couple of minutes walk cross the fields lies Mile Tree Brewery, which welcomes guests for drinks and meals. Elsewhere in the town you will find the independent Luxe Cinema where you can catch a film, as well as the Wisbech & Fenland Museum, ideal for those history buffs. If exploration takes you further afield, you have King’s Lynn, Peterborough and Cambridge within driving distance, making The Apple Shed a fantastic choice for a getaway any time of year.

The place was perfect for 6 adults, all having king size beds and en suites, then a social living and kitchen area. The garden was huge, and the hot tub and fire pit were just a perfect addiction. The hosts were great at communicating and responded promptly when we had a slight issue with the drainage in one of the wet rooms. We couldnât have asked for anything more, a very enjoyable stay, thank you Jim and Inna

Obviously we didn't need it but all other properties we have stayed in have had 1 or 2 items. If not both. The sofa was far to low for all of us. Some couldn't even get on it . And too big for the size of the room we felt. If there was a 6th person at the table we would of had to push the table back up and I don't think anyone would have got through. There was 3 of which had mobility issues which is why we chose the appleshed because its all ground level floor. But we couldn't get down the steps to the garden. A handrail or two may come in handy. And possibly at the front door. Especially for when it is wet . The 2 wet rooms the whole of the floor was rather wet. But apart from a little issues we had a nice time thank you.
