It is cosy and comfortable with a large wood burner in the living room, luxury bathroom, sumptuous bedrooms and the most stunning views over the Solway Estuary towards Scotland. There are views over the Solway Estuary from the Juliet balcony of the first floor bedroom, and the bathroom, also on the first floor, has a spacious marble shower cubicle with a rainfall shower head.
Bowness-on-Solway is famous for being the start (or end) of the Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail, a long distance footpath with 84 miles of glorious walking that includes stunning coastlines, rugged moorland, rolling fields and the dynamic cities of Carlisle and Newcastle. The area is great for relaxing and also a fantastic spot for walking, cycling and birdwatching; there are several nature reserves nearby, including Campfield Marsh (rspb). The Solway Estuary is accessible from a nice pathway leading to the beach. With so much to offer in the area, Bank Cottage truly is a little bit of luxury to return to after a day exploring this stunning coastline. Beach on the doorstep. Our stay was really lovely, it's quiet, secluded and gave us the peace that we really wanted. I only marked the area down as shop etc. Is quite difficult to come by. This isn't a problem but at times particularly on a Sunday is much more difficult than we were used to and just required some fore-thought.The house is perfect, nothing was left out or missing. So homely and the owners have clearly understood and taken the time to think exactly which items can help when travelling.Everything is high quality, furnished to give you full comfort. Thank you

A lovely cottage with all that is required to make a great break, lovely views and quite remote, much as expected. Ideal for two couples or a family, local facilities are limited but a bit of planning will overcome that, local pub was good for food but the garrison bistro knocked spots off it with excellent fresh home cooked food and at the same price as the pub. All in all well recommended for a complete getaway.

The cottage is amazing and nothing has been forgotten.The attention to detail is second to none. It's in a beautiful spot and so peaceful and quiet, a place where you can totally relax and unwind.
