Guests have praised the cottage for its comfort, well-equipped nature, and thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack and complimentary wine. The property is noted for its tasteful decor and suitability for both families and pets. While some guests mentioned traffic noise and issues with bed bugs, these were not widespread concerns. The location is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and walks.
The cottage is consistently described as spotlessly clean, with numerous reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. One isolated incident of bed bugs was mentioned, but this does not appear to be a common issue.
The location is generally well-regarded for its access to local walks and attractions like Calke Abbey. However, some guests noted traffic noise and the lack of a local shop within walking distance, slightly diminishing the location's appeal.
Many reviews commend the cottage for its homely and comfortable atmosphere. The presence of low ceilings was a minor inconvenience for taller guests, and some mentioned the road noise, but overall comfort levels were high.
Facilities are praised for being modern and well-furnished, with a full TV package and quality equipment. The mention of only one bathroom and the absence of a washing machine suggest room for improvement.
Guests frequently appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as welcome packs and a bottle of wine. While these gestures are warmly received, it should be noted that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Calke abbey is walking distance, which was great. Really handy having two car parking spaces. Was really easy to find following the directions. The third floor is quite tricky to get up there if you're tall, a great space for children if they're quite independent. We had two babies with us and while the space was great to have, getting them up and down was hard. But older kids would absolutely love this space, great set up for them!

The attention to detail and the commodities made our break perfect. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The beds were as comfortable as any I have slept in before. I would certainly recommend and will hopefully stay again sometime.

We took a dog as it said âan enclosed gardenâ but the details failed to mention there was a walk to the garden down an unsecured path, as a result we had to accompany the dog each time to the garden and were unable to leave the back door open. The loft rooms were absolutely boiling but fans provided did help in some way to reduce the temperature. We accidentally left our bag of dirty washing and we paid for postage but then paid another £25 on top for the effort on the hosts part. Hosts were unhelpful and irritated by this inconvenience. They were also difficult to get hold of.
