Olive's Place in Belper, Derbyshire, receives high praise for its well-equipped facilities, thoughtful touches, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, the welcoming atmosphere for dogs and children, and the property's proximity to local amenities. The enclosed garden and the property's aesthetic appeal are also frequently mentioned, contributing to a delightful stay.
Reviewers consistently mention the property being spotlessly clean and well-kept, with every room smelling great, indicating exceptional standards of cleanliness.
The property's location is highly regarded for its proximity to Belper town centre, ease of access to local pubs, shops, and river walks, and the peacefulness of the surrounding area.
Guests frequently commend the comfort of the cottage, mentioning super comfy beds, cosy furnishings, and a warm atmosphere even in cold weather.
The property is celebrated for its well-equipped kitchen, matching crockery, and additional amenities like BBQ and coal. The enclosed garden and thoughtful welcome tray are also appreciated.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of dog biscuits, a tray of real ales, and various teas. While these gifts enhance the experience, it's politely noted that such extras, though likely, are not guaranteed.
Boasting a stunning and thoughtful finish throughout, this charming property provides guests with a warm and inviting retreat whilst exploring the picturesque Derbyshire countryside. Built in the 1700s for the workers at the Strutt family's mills, this terraced cottage is located on a renowned cobbled street, with elegant dark green and cream paintwork to the majority of properties, in the heart of the award-winning market town of Belper. At the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, it’s a town steeped in rich industrial heritage and creative culture. Meander through its cobbled streets to find independent boutiques, delicious eateries and historic sites aplenty. The North Mill and visitor centre makes for an educational day out, whilst the Belper River Gardens is a tranquil space amongst nature whatever the season, with rowing boats available for hire during the summer months. Situated just south of the Peak District National Park you can explore the nearby sights of Matlock (10mls) and Bakewell (18mls) with absolute ease.

Mr Pope
Lovely property. We stayed as 3 siblings and were very happy. Very clean and well appointed property which is easily walkable to the shops, pubs and restaurants of Belper. We would happily go back again.
Miss Boyden
Very stylish and comfortable accommodation. Weather was -3 but the cottage was warm and cosy. Everything was catered for and very thoughtfully prepared.
Mrs Sleet
This cottage is worth a review, which I don’t usually. Exceptionally clean, much bigger inside than we thought. So many generous extras, too many to list. Never a problem with parking, although the cobble road is brutal! Quiet and dog proof garden, well placed, easy to walk into town. Lovely
