Boasting a stunning and thoughtful finish throughout, this charming property provides guests with a warm and inviting retreat whilst exploring the picturesque Derbyshire countryside. Built in the 1700s for the workers at the Strutt family's mills, this terraced cottage is located on a renowned cobbled street, with elegant dark green and cream paintwork to the majority of properties, in the heart of the award-winning market town of Belper. At the centre of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, it’s a town steeped in rich industrial heritage and creative culture. Meander through its cobbled streets to find independent boutiques, delicious eateries and historic sites aplenty. The North Mill and visitor centre makes for an educational day out, whilst the Belper River Gardens is a tranquil space amongst nature whatever the season, with rowing boats available for hire during the summer months. Situated just south of the Peak District National Park you can explore the nearby sights of Matlock (10mls) and Bakewell (18mls) with absolute ease.
This deceptively spacious cottage, renovated and furnished to an incredibly high standard, comprises:
Entrance Hall: with plenty of space to store coats, boots and shoes.
Lounge: stylishly furnished with sofa, two armchairs, ottoman, contemporary wood burning stove (first basket of logs provided) set into the original fireplace with its feature stone surround, Smart TV and DVD player, books and games.
Kitchen: well-fitted and equipped, with electric oven, gas hob, integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine, microwave, air fryer, wine cooler, Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and milk frother; two slim breakfast bar stools and a range of cookery books.
Dining Room: converted from a former outhouse extension into a smart contemporary space, furnished with bespoke fitted seating, hand-made dining table and chairs; the rear door leads out from here to the garden. There is also a dining mat for the dog!
A door in the corner of the kitchen hides the staircase to the first floor:
Bedroom 1: with quality king-size bed, fitted wardrobes and a window to the rear of the property.
Bedroom 2: with double bed and clothes storage.
Bedroom 3: with single bed and clothes storage.
Family Bathroom: with shower over the bath, WC and basin.
Outside: is a long enclosed garden in two sections: a large patio area with garden furniture and barbecue available, and a lawned garden with pear tree. A gate takes you onto a shared path, a shortcut through the cobbled streets to the centre of town.
Parking: on the street to the front of the property (subject to availability).

Very stylish and comfortable accommodation. Weather was -3 but the cottage was warm and cosy. Everything was catered for and very thoughtfully prepared.

This cottage is worth a review, which I don’t usually. Exceptionally clean, much bigger inside than we thought. So many generous extras, too many to list. Never a problem with parking, although the cobble road is brutal! Quiet and dog proof garden, well placed, easy to walk into town. Lovely
Mr Rodgers
We booked Olive’s place as a base for housing hunting as we are relocating but it was so lovely it turned a stressful time into an enjoyable holiday - everything is thought about & the owners were super responsive & helpful.
