Guests say

Bumble Bee Cottage in Skegness is praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and quiet location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, the homely feel, and the secure garden. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests find the cottage to be very clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its spotlessness. However, a few guests have noted issues with cleanliness, such as stained carpets and a need for better maintenance in the garden and conservatory.

The cottage's location is highly regarded for its tranquillity and proximity to Skegness town centre. Guests enjoy the peaceful setting and the convenience of nearby shops and bus routes.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the cottage, including the large and comfortable bed, the cosy atmosphere, and the well-furnished rooms. However, there are comments about uncomfortable beds and low-hanging lights that detract slightly from the overall comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with particular praise for the well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. Nonetheless, there are recurring comments about issues with the shower, TV reception, and oven, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.

While some guests mention thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits upon arrival, there are not enough references to consistently provided gifts to accurately score this category. Therefore, while these gestures are appreciated, they should not be expected by future guests.

It has everything you need and was very comfortable and homely the bed is so comfortable and chairs in sitting room give excellent support. its in a lovely quiet estate with friendly people bus route very close and convenient. We can say absolutely nothing negative about property at all so as far as we are concerned carry on as normal the owners are doing a grand job.

It was very spacious and the parking was good. The bed in main bedroom was great. We still managed to have a good holiday overall but feel very let down on many major points. We were very surprised at the many reviews saying the cottage was “spotlessly clean”. We had to clean a lot to feel comfortable staying for the week. Many areas were not nearly as clean as we would expect for what we paid. The kitchen tap where the water came from was black when I wiped it, with dirt/mould. This meant we had to use bottled water. The kettle was filled with chunks of limescale and was the worst I’ve ever seen. We bought vinegar to descale this. The conservatory off the single room had an ants nest at the side of the floor and there were so many dead flies lying around. We did not use this room for this reason. The garden was so overgrown you couldn’t walk the whole way round. When we used a cleaning wipe on a table in the livingroom it was brown after. The kitchen bin lid was dirty. The bathroom was soaked after every shower. There was mould in the grout of the tiles. The carpet in the livingroom was stained and sticky feeling. The sofas in the livingroom were stained. The whole cottage smelled faintly of old cigarette smoke especially in the bedrooms, and also could smell dogs. We were so dissapointed with all these things and felt really let down. We paid a good amount of money to stay and expected it to be cleaned to a reasonable standard and be able to use all facilities (conservatories, garden, kitchen tap etc). We would have complained during our stay but after having brought young children we wanted to make the most of it and not have to deal with owners coming round and disrupting our holiday. Very poor value for money and disappointing considering it could be such a lovely property if cleaned well and maintained better. Definitely would not stay again.
