This cottage has been newly built to the design of the 17th century farmhouse mixing traditional features with modern comforts. The property is situated on a working farm, with livestock such as chickens, sheep and a resident peacock, Percy. There are tearooms onsite, Carp fishing pond, Artisan Bakery and of course the ruins of the priory. The farm is nestled in a valley and surrounded by green fields and hundreds of acres of woodland. From your door, there are many circular walks and bike rides. If you are a real ale or cider fan visit our micropubs; The Gamekeepers Freehouse on Eastwood high street 5 minutes drive and the Poachers Alehouse, in Jacksdale 10 minutes drive. We are lucky in the midlands to be surrounded by hundreds of microbreweries and micropubs. Nearby you can visit Newstead Abbey, ancestral home of the poet Lord Byron, Wollaton Hall with its 400 acre deer park and natural history museum and further afield but just 35 minutes away are Chatsworth Estate, the Peak District and Derbyshire in general. Both Nottingham and Derby city centres are a 30 minute drive and accessible by car, tram or bus. The property comprises of an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge area benefiting from a wood burner to relax in front with a TV and DVD player. The property is well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer there is also a shared utility room with washing machine. The property offers 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. The master bedroom as has a TV ad DVD player. There is a separate shower room with shower and WC. Outside you can enjoy seating directly outside the cottage and watch the comings and goings of farm life or enjoy the extensive grounds of the priory. There are lockable store for bikes and fishing equipment. Need to know: 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin. Shower room: with shower and WC . Woodburner (first basket of logs included). TV and DVD in living room and master bedroom. Kitchen area, well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Kennel facilities free of charge if dogs need to be left any time by prior arrangement. Guided tour of the Priory ruins available. Tea rooms on site, open every Wednesday to Sunday. Fishing can be arranged directly with the owners. Farm activities: guests are welcome to explore the grounds and see the sheep, goats and hens . Shared utility room with washing machine. Lockable store for bikes and fishing equipment. Outside area with seating. Ample off road parking. Please note Wi Fi can be intermittent and sometimes not available. Shop 2 miles and pub 1 mile.
