Church View Lodge in Oakham offers a comfortable stay with a hot tub and is pet-friendly. Guests appreciate the clean lodgings, comfortable beds, and the welcome packs. The site's staff are noted for their friendliness, and the location is convenient for local attractions. Some guests mention noise and maintenance issues, but overall experiences are positive.
Reviews generally indicate that the lodge is clean, with several guests highlighting its spotlessness. However, there are mentions of dust, cobwebs, and an unclean hot tub, suggesting room for improvement in some areas.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and the village, but some guests have noted disturbances from a nearby industrial unit and intense smoke, which affected the enjoyment of their stay.
The beds are frequently described as comfortable, contributing positively to guests' comfort. However, multiple reviews criticise the sofas for being uncomfortable and in poor condition, which impacts the overall comfort score.
Facilities like the hot tub and on-site restaurant are well-received, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as broken catches, heavy hot tub covers, and lack of cooking utensils, which suggest that facility maintenance could be better.
Many guests express gratitude for the welcome packs, which include items like wine, chocolate, and fresh eggs. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it's important to note that such extras are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

Nice and clean. Hot tub great. The only thing that let it down was the sofas, one was ripped where it is so old and worn and borh are so uncomfortable. This lodge is not detached- it is adjoining reception- you can hear voices during the day through the connecting door which is looked. Didnât bother us as we were out during the day anyway. Bed was comfortable. Love the area, so much to do.
