Lovingly renovated with exquisite attention to detail, this property seamlessly marries historic elegance with contemporary comforts. The kitchen/diner is a bright and inviting space with retro-style appliances and a large bench dining table, inviting guests to craft and savour meals together. Next door, an original flint wall adds character to the lounge, where sunny colours, plush sofas and a large, wall-mounted TV are ideal for lazy evenings in. Bi-fold doors open into the private rear garden, where you have a table for dining alfresco and a hot tub under a roofed pagoda to help you unwind. Two inviting first-floor bedrooms whisper of a refreshing night’s sleep, a king-size master bedroom and an elegant twin. The ground-floor bathroom features both a bath and a walk-in shower.

A 0.5-mile stroll across a grass footpath takes you to Toppesfield village, where you’ll find a pub, a park, a village shop and a brewery. Wine lovers can sample local wines at Toppesfield and Tuffon Hall Vineyards (within 4 miles), while history enthusiasts can visit Hedingham Castle (4 miles) or the historic city of Colchester (23.5 miles). For glorious country walks, head to Dedham Vale to explore Flatford Mill and Constable Country (27 miles).
