Lovingly restored with all the comforts of a home, the property is an ideal choice for family and friends to come together to enjoy the attractions of the North Lakes, with a number of scenic walks and rambles from the door. Set over three floors, you enter into a hallway where you can leave your muddy boots behind before finding the kitchen. Equipped to a quality standard, you will have no trouble whipping up a sumptuous feast with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave and a fridge/freezer on hand, while the adjacent dining table will suit all your entertaining needs. There is also a small sitting area where you can break away from the group to enjoy a private read or take some time to reflect on the holiday so far. Moving through the house, the first floor plays host to a more sociable lounge with seating for up to six people and TV with Sky Q box, perfect for a movie night or to simply catch up on your favourite programmes. Take your pick from the four bedrooms which are spread out throughout the property, with the first floor offering a king-size room with en-suite shower, the second-floor offering a king-size and a cosy twin, whilst the third floor has steep stairs leading to a further twin with views over Keswick. Furnishings, colours schemes and fabrics throughout are of a high quality, with neutral colours giving a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.     The bath needed cleaning again before it could be used. It’s in a great location, nice walk to the town centre and derwentwater. The property has no outside space which is a shame but has loads of indoor space. There are a LOT of stairs! They have kindly provided lots of books and games which is a bonus. As a result of the location parking is a challenge, particularly at weekends. There is on street parking next to the house but it is in high demand due to the high numbers of b&bs around.

    One refuse bin for a house which sleeps 8 people is not sufficient. No recycling bin which would have been very useful. A second point relates to the check-in time of 5pm which is very late compared to other cottage providers. I understood this during COVID times when extra cleaning time was allocated but this shouldn’t be the case anymore. Allowing access from 3pm on day of arrival is pretty standard now.
