Guests say

Castle Lodge is a charming and cosy cottage in Keswick, praised for its stunning location and character. Guests have enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, scenic views, and the cottage's proximity to nature and walking paths. The property is well-equipped and the owner is noted for being friendly and welcoming. While there is a mention of low beams and a dated kitchen, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The cottage is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with only one mention of an oven needing a clean. This suggests high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is consistently lauded for its quiet, peaceful setting with spectacular views and direct access to walks. It is considered perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity.

Most reviews find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with plenty of space and a homely feel. However, there are comments about low ceilings and beams that could be uncomfortable for taller individuals.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the presence of games and WiFi. Criticisms include a dated kitchen, an unventilated en-suite, and a mattress needing replacement, indicating some areas for improvement.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a complimentary pack of biscuits and milk on arrival, as well as filled bird feeders. While these gestures are appreciated, they may not be consistent for all stays.

The only small detail we found was , no heater in the en-suite bathroom, but this was counter balanced by leaving the door open. All in all a wonderful cottage in a beautiful location, highly recommended

Nicely quirky, comfortable, nice and spacious and with all we needed in amenties. Great location with loads of walks from the door and great views all round with a cuppa outside. Owners made you feel welcome with some milk and biscuits and bird feeders were all filled when we arrived. We recommend the Langstrath Country Inn for ale and great food and the Flock Inn tearoom for a great cuppa.

The location is amazing with plenty of walks from the door and pubs. The cottage has everything and whilst it's not modernised at all it has everything you need. We really enjoyed the stay here but the property might not be everyone's taste.
