We were a party of 7 , 4 adults and 3 boys ( ages 11,12 and 13) plus a small dog. The property was ideal , very well equipped, easy parking for 3 cars. The boys loved the very large enclosed garden with a stream and hot tub, plenty of room to run and play with the dog ( who also enjoyed it ) . Woody's cafe and gift shop 5mins walk away and nice local walks close by without taking the car. Irton Pike just up the road is worth the uphill walk for the views. The Bower House pub serves good food and has a small kids football pitch at the back. We made one trip to Whitehaven for supermarket shopping and Cumberland sausage from the butchers. Our other great outings were Hardknott Pass ( fabulous scenery) , the Lal' Ratty steam train to Ravenglass ( well worth the money ) and the boys loved Muncaster Castle with archery and the birds of prey. Fell Foot and it's garden made the holiday perfect .Despite it being Storm Lillian week the daytime weather was fine enough to enjoy everything. If you return to Dalegarth on the train we would highly recommend The Boot pub in Boot about a quarter of a mile from Dalegarth Station. The roads are narrow , be prepared to give way or reverse occasionally. Many thanks to Dawn the Housekeeper who was very helpful when going out on separate trips we accidentally locked ourselves out. The boys and adults were so happy with the week we wished it had been longer.

The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped, the little one loved playing with. Amazing hot tub views. Great contact from Kate and Dawn.

If I were to recommend anything at all it would be more comfortable mattress in the king sized room and proper 3 foot 6 single beds in the other rooms. It's not always small children who require a single bed. This said it would truly take some beating. Provided the best r+r withing easy reach of bars, plenty of walking both gentle and more challenging. Would deffinatly book again.
