About this property

Showcasing simply sublime views across to Kendal Castle, Helton Fell is an immaculately presented second-floor apartment ideal for couples or a family of four and rests in the heart of Kendal, one of Cumbria's most popular towns.

Forming part of a stylish, architect-designed building, the pet-friendly apartment has been sensitively restored to make the most of the original features such as traditional beams, window seats and vaulted ceilings which cleverly combine with eco-features such as smart electric heating powered by roof solar panels.

Inside, you'll find a bright and airy open-concept living space with a fully equipped kitchen perfect for whipping up family favourites to be enjoyed at the dining table for four, and a welcoming lounge area with a 65" TV complete with an Amazon Firestick, perfect for unwinding in front of the tube with friends or loved ones.

There is also a convenient communal laundry room for guests to use. A spacious shower room awaits you after a day of exploring, and the two beautifully decorated bedrooms—a super-king-size with en-suite shower room and a twin perfect for resting up after an adventure filled day.

Your adventure to the Lakes begins at Helton Fell.

Located on the banks of the River Kent, the historic market town of Kendal is often referred to as the "Southern Gateway to the Lakes" due to its convenient location and excellent reputation among shoppers. The stone ruins of Kendal Castle, which date back to the 12th century, can be seen situated on a hill above the town, and the town's picturesque main street is accessed via winding, old, cobbled roads and byways. The Abbot Hall Art Gallery regularly displays portraits by George Romney (who was born in Kendal) as well as works by Turner and Ruskin, and it also has connections to the Tate for temporary exhibitions. Limestone escarpments for easy walking offer exhilarating views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills, and Morecambe Bay, and both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall, with its renowned Topiary Garden, are located close. Its location makes Kendal a great base from which to explore the surrounding areas, including South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales, and beyond. Kendal is a great place to stay for exploring the surrounding area of the National Park, as it is home to the Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, as well as the interesting Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere, and more.

And it was a really good apartment, modern clean And comfortable. Easy access to places roundabout restaurants. There's a tesco across the road, only thing is the very steep stairs But there is not a problem for us.

The apartment was a relatively new conversion and was well thought out and really clean. The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. It was surprisingly spacious and gave everyone plenty of space. We only used the kitchen once to cook a pizza but it did seem well equipped for anyone who wanted to do more. The washer/dryer is in a utility room on the floor below and was useful after a wet day out. Located right in the centre of Kendal (above a bank), so no parking, but we used the local council car park which was free between 1730 and 0830, from there less than two mins walk to the accommodation. For electric car drivers there’s approx. four chargers on this car park with are free to use, you just need your own cable. One of the best holiday accommodations we’ve booked so would happily stay again. :-)
