About this property

Heatherley is a substantial, end-of-terrace property which has been renovated to a quality standard and sits within a peaceful residential area close to the centre of Ambleside. With four bedrooms and bathrooms, the property is designed to provide comfortable accommodation for groups of families and friends looking to stay within one of the most desirable holiday locations in the UK. After a day of rambling the fells, put away your boots and coats in the hallway and head to the sitting area, complete with two sofas and armchairs, dual aspect windows, a woodburning stove and wall-mounted TV to entertain. Gather at the wooden dining table, whether for home-cooked meals or a board game brought from home. Move to the rear of the property to discover the superbly appointed kitchen, complete with a range cooker and plenty of worktop space, plus all the crockery and utensils you could need for a self-catered stay. As the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the four bedrooms, each one containing plush beds draped in gorgeous linens and home to plenty of storage for your things. On the first floor is the master king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin room served by a contemporary bathroom, while the second floor offers a similar setup with a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower and a twin room, both of which feature unique sloped roofing. Spend a moment outside at the rear patio, offering a great space for evening drinks or alfresco dining, or head to one of the many eateries in Ambleside, including an award-winning Michelin starred restaurant. Resting just outside Ambleside you will find Brockhole Visitors Centre where you can enjoy treetop treks, mini golf, archery and some delightful walks around the extensive gardens designed by British gardener Thomas Mawson. Beatrix Potter’s former home, the National Trust’s Hill Top, rests close by in Hawkshead and is a quaint farmhouse still filled with the writer’s furnishings and favourite things, almost as though she had just stepped out for a walk; it’s a fantastic place to visit for any fans of her children’s books. Heatherley is an individual holiday home with its own style and character, perfect for a getaway whatever time of year.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

It is an overall a comfortable property and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are all in good shape & some nice design features. The halls / stairs /landing & doors need renovation, rather tatty No welcome pack and surprisingly no hand soap in the kitchen or bathrooms on arrival which isn’t acceptable. You are overlooked and so privacy blinds would help a lot The garden needed weeding & better garden furniture would be good Microwave needs updating

A second key would have been handy and the coat hooks in the recess by the front door are far too high for most people to reach.
