Guests say

Egg Pudding Stone is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and dog-friendly features. The beautiful garden and quiet, cosy atmosphere are frequently mentioned, alongside the property's suitability as a base for exploring the Lakes. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including treats for dogs, although some noted minor issues with facilities and maintenance.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-presented. One isolated incident of finding debris under furniture suggests room for improvement, but overall, the property is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is generally praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions like Cartmel and Lake Windermere. However, the lack of direct walks from the house and the garden not being directly attached to the cottage slightly affect the perfect score.

The comfort of the beds and the cosy atmosphere are highlights, though some guests found the sofas low and difficult to rise from. The property is described as warm and welcoming, contributing to a comfortable stay.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden for dogs. However, comments about the small TV, lack of a washing machine, and the need for a grab rail in the shower suggest that some facilities could be improved.

The provision of dog treats and blankets, as well as other small touches, are well-received, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

We have never stayed in a place that had everything we needed. The garden was just perfect for our 3 dogs and they loved exploring all the nooks and crannies there was. The garden extended out behind a wooden gate with another field they could run about in. Anthony and Helen checked on us when we arrived to make sure all was OK. A lovely patio which would be glorious in the summer with all the flowering flowers and shrubs. So many places to visit and beaches to walk the dogs. Whoever goes there in the future remember to try the sticky toffee pudding from the local shop in Cartmel, it is sooooo yummy. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. The only thing I could say , is maybe a couple of recycling bins in the kitchen next to the fridge would have helped us to be more efficient with the recycling. If you have already booked to go, enjoy it, I'm sure you will.

Comfortable cottage and beautiful garden. We even had good weather after being drenched the first day. Everything you would want in a cottage, although a washing machine in the utility would be nice but did not detract from our stay. Doggy treats and blankets for our greyhound were a welcome extra. All in all well worth a visit

It was just perfect. The cutest cottage with a fantastic living room, dining room and kitchen space. At no point did we feel like it was missing anything. It’s in a great location for getting to lots of places in the lakes. The garden is stunning! And fully enclosed which was perfect for Finn the greyhound who absolutely loved his first holiday. We had a great week staying at Egg Pudding Stone and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we were going back to the area. Thank you!
