Guests consistently praise Archie's for its spaciousness, well-equipped amenities, and prime location in Ambleside. The property is appreciated for its comfort, with special mentions of the en-suite bedrooms and dog-friendly garden. While some guests noted issues with furnishings and maintenance, the quick response from the maintenance team is commended. The welcome basket is a delightful touch, though its contents may vary.
Most guests found Archie's to be clean and well-presented, though there were a few mentions of areas needing more attention, such as dust and dog hair. The overall standard of cleanliness appears to be high, but the minor issues prevent a perfect score.
The location of Archie's is highly praised for being central and convenient, with easy access to Ambleside's shops, restaurants, and the lake. The availability of on-site parking is frequently mentioned as a significant benefit.
The property is generally regarded as comfortable, with large beds and spacious rooms. However, some guests reported uncomfortable sofas and a need for additional heating in certain areas, slightly reducing the comfort score.
Facilities at Archie's are well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. However, there are recurring comments about maintenance issues such as water pressure, hot water availability, and the need for furniture updates, which affects the score.
Guests often mention a welcome basket, which adds a thoughtful touch to their stay. While such gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed and may vary. The provision of toys and games for children and considerations for pet owners also reflect thoughtfulness.

Toys and games for the children great everything supplied to make it home from home. Couple of negatives the heat in the downstairs toilet unbearable and on removing bedding there are pillows that were quite grubby, definitely need replacing.

The house is spacious and has absolutely everything that you could possibly need. Would highly recommend

Lots of thoughtful extras e.g. games, umbrellas, dvds, welcome basket. Issues: it was far too hot and the heating was locked on timers. We tried to turn off the underfloor heating in the lower ground floor but it didnât go off. The steps to the garden are so slippery when wet that they are dangerous.
