Guests say

Guests appreciate the property's peaceful rural setting and proximity to walking areas, with many enjoying the cosy atmosphere and the wood burner. The location is praised for its beauty and convenience for exploring the South Lakes. However, some guests noted issues with noise from other accommodations, and a few mentioned cleanliness and maintenance concerns.

Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, but there are instances of overlooked areas, such as a dirty cup and crumbs in a drawer, and concerns about the thoroughness of cleaning protocols. The presence of flies and a wasp nest were also mentioned, affecting the overall perception of cleanliness.

The property's location is highly praised for its stunning views and access to local attractions. Guests enjoyed the rural setting and the walks available, although some found the access roads challenging and the property somewhat secluded.

The property is described as cosy and comfortable by several guests, with a particularly comfortable bed noted. However, comfort was compromised for some due to noise from other guests in the building, which was a recurring theme in the feedback.

Facilities such as a wood burner and shared amenities are appreciated, but there are reports of maintenance issues like radiator problems and a stiff shower door. Shared facilities were adequate, but the lack of Wi-Fi and miscommunication about on-site amenities like a swimming pool and gym affected the score.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. No reviews mentioned gifts, so this category cannot be scored.

Great base for exploring the lakes. Field to walk your dogs on the lead and play area for children. Towels, washing up liquid, cloths, tea towel provided and well equipt kitchen. Would consider staying again. Improvements-new mattress and matress cover for double bed, softer pillows-a bit on the hard side. Only large metal council bins on site. Recycle, dog poo and ash bins need to be included similar to previous feedback.

The accomodation was ok but felt a bit damp. The radiators helped to alleviate this. With other guests above us our experience was mixed. Some were mindful and were quiet while others were ridiculously noisy, A family with 3 boys and a dog were clearly having great fun by winding the dog up to charge about the hard surface in their lounge without any regard to other guests. It does say in the info that this can be a problem but if the upstairs was better insulated and carpeted there would be less likelihood of noise spoiling your experience.

Shared freezer, dishwasher and laundry facilities might have been a problem for a stay longer than our 4 days. Some detail concerning recycling would help--- having kept our recyclable stuff separate from rubbish, we found they were both going in the same bin. Parking was definitely a bit random with some guests not parking in sensible ways to maximise space and the estate shop prices were so incredible we didnt use it. The path down to the lake needs some serious pruning in the latter stages! However, that said, it was generally a nice place.
