Within walking distance, you will find Beatrix Potter Gallery and Hawkshead, and The Fitzwilliam Gallery, recommended for those who enjoy history, art, and culture, whilst Esthwaite Water Trout Fishery, and Coniston Water are a short car journey away, ideal for trout fishing or the chance to kayak across the national park. The hob was a problem, it was difficult for us to use as once you had ccoked on any of the rings and turned them off, the "H" symbol appeared. if we then needed to put on another pan the rings, the rings with the "H" would not reheat so we were not able to use them for some time. With dinner to cook for 6 this was an annoyance each evening. perhaps the instructions could be made clearer.

It is prettily decorated and comfortable with all needs catered for. It's also in a great, central, location. We would recommend it to anyone. However, a couple of little niggles, if sorted, would make it perfect. The french doors into the little front garden didn't open (key didn't work) so we were unable to sit there which was a shame. And the front door snib didn't work so we had to be careful not to lock ourselves out! Also, the cooker and hob took a bit of working out so up to date info on their use would be great. Other than that, it's a gem!
