It is a popular choice for groups and families, offering a well-stocked kitchen and a secure garden for dogs. The property's charm and proximity to local amenities make it a favourable base for exploring the Lake District.
Cleanliness has received mixed reviews, with some guests finding the property spotless and others noting issues with cobwebs and general maintenance. The inconsistency in cleanliness has led to a slightly above-average score.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Grasmere Village, local walks, and amenities. The convenience of a bus stop nearby and stunning views contribute to a near-perfect score.
Guests find the property comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and suitable for multi-generational stays. However, some reviews mention uncomfortable furniture and beds, leading to a good but not excellent score.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, several reviews mention the need for maintenance and updates, such as fixing showers and heating issues, which affects the score.
There is insufficient information regarding the presence of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

We have stayed in many parts of the Lake District over the years and have booked cottages in and around Grasemere but hands down this is the best we have had. From the excellent location, less than 10 mins from the centre of Grasemere, to the fantastic decor and facilities. Great kitchen area for cooking and dining for 10 and with most rooms, which are all beautifully decorated, having on-suites it made the stay perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone and will be booking it again for next year. Good food at the swan (4 min walk) and Tweedies bar (10 min walk) also canât recommend highly enough the Jumble room restaurant with a fabulous Asian fusion menu (booking absolutely necessary). We had two dogs with us and the enclosed garden was perfect. Great base for walks of all levels, go stay and enjoy the lakes!

We were blessed by fine autumnal weather and had a fabulous stay. The house is delightful and well equipped and the location is superb. It was great to be able to return to such a cosy base after a day out walking. We had a wonderful holiday with our children and grandchildren. The little ones loved exploring the garden and thought the 'secret fairyland' in the basement was great fun. We will be back.

Beautiful home with all the facilities you could need. Close to the centre of Grasmere and the bus network to get you around the lakes. Garden is well maintained and secure for dogs. Negatives. The house sleeps 10 adults yet there is only 9 large dinner plates! The sofas in the lounge are so uncomfortable with the one being held up with wooden planks. This meant we ended up going to bed very early as also the dinning room chairs were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. 2 of the en suite showers did not drain so could not be used. I did contact Sykes but had no response. The heating system has a mind of its own. The car park space fits 3 cars at a squeeze. The one bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood. The bath although beautiful cannot be used unless you are a child as there is no headroom to get in and out of it. The oven in the main kitchen cannot be used to its full capacity as half the oven did not work. There was no grill pan and there are missing knobs for all the gas hob. No instructions found so had to Google how to use it. The windows in the loft cannot be opened and when able to they shut on their own. There is a photo of a basement area but the door to this was locked. It is such a shame as the house is stunning and so is grasmere and we all loved our week there. But unfortunately would not book again.
