Guests generally appreciate the cottage's stunning location near Lake Windermere, with its beautiful views and convenient ferry access. The property offers a comfortable and cosy stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and a warm atmosphere. While some guests mention minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property spotless with a lovely welcome hamper, while others noted issues such as dirty floors and cobwebs. The inconsistency leads to a slightly above average score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and proximity to the ferry, providing easy access to local attractions. The peaceful setting and lake views are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to a high score.
Most guests found the cottage comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and adequate space. However, some mentioned that the furniture could be improved for relaxation after long walks. Overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-appointed kitchen and good heating. Some guests reported maintenance issues like low shower pressure and broken items, which suggests room for improvement.
While some guests were delighted by the welcome hamper, there are insufficient references to consistent thoughtful gestures across the reviews to accurately score this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Sliding wardrobe doors stuck and broken. Rail on balcony loose, lights in kitchen flickering. Floors were filthy, rug was very dirty and sofa needs cleaning had food marks on it. Hoover didnât work and no broom. Marks on walls and view not as described as a tree blocked most of it, over looks an estuary on side of Windermere. Looking back through previous reviews a lot of these faults have been mentioned but clearly not been rectified.

The shower is great. And the property is well equipped. When we had a question about where to put bins out, Sykes were quick to respond. Sykes contacted the property owner on our behalf. The extractor fan in the bathroom is in need of repair / replacement. The property could be cleaner, specifically dust / cobwebs up high, and the rug in the living room was filthy. It appeared to be covered in dog hair. It would be better at this point to just remove the rug!
