Guests have found the Wastwater property to be a delightful rural escape with a great location near the lake, offering modern and clean accommodation. The charming setting and proximity to local attractions and pubs add to the appeal, although some guests noted issues with heating and maintenance.
The majority of guests reported the property to be clean and well-equipped, with only one mention of a smell from the drains and a smoke odour from a previous guest, which seems to be an isolated incident.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the lake, local pubs, and attractions like Beatrix Potter's house. It is considered ideal for exploring the Lake District and enjoying rural countryside.
Guests found the beds comfortable and the accommodation nice, but there were several complaints about inadequate heating and issues with the electric storage radiators, which affected the overall comfort during their stay.
Facilities were generally found to be excellent, with modern amenities appreciated. However, there were several mentions of maintenance issues such as problematic windows, a non-working oven grill, and heating difficulties, which suggest room for improvement.
Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches like tea bags, coffee, and a Christmas tree on arrival. While these gestures are well-received, it should be noted that such extras are a bonus and not guaranteed with every stay.

.Great location, facilities were excellent and we thoroughly our stay. Only thing to note would be there seemed to be a smell coming from the drains (mainly in the kitchen sink) which then floated in the kitchen and lounge area but that's all. Will be recommending to family and friends.

We came back completely refreshed and looking forward to going back next year.

The building itself holds character. It is a proper rural country side escape from crowded city and town. Beautiful lake in walking distance.
