About this property

This superbly presented studio cottage sits in a tranquil position with views across the Vale of Grasmere, in the heart of the scenic Lake District National Park. Refurbished to a superb standard, Wisteria is a romantic bolthole for couples seeking a break in this scenic Lakeland region. Internally, the property has been given a real ‘wow’ factor with boutique fixtures and fittings throughout. Enter into the open-plan living space, offering bespoke cabinetry and granite worktops amongst a range of appliances, encouraging those budding chefs to rustle up their favourite dishes. Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table, popping open a bottle of wine and toasting to a much-needed break with your partner, before switching on the Smart TV and picking up out a movie to watch. Climb upstairs to reach the bedroom, offering a luxurious flair with a double bed and large picture window; relax up on the window seat and enjoy views over the garden, with a charming woodburning stove to assist in the chillier months. Prepare for the day in style within the en-suite shower room, boasting beautiful tiling and presentation (look out for the Pelican!) with large imposing mirrors, a spacious shower with monsoon shower head and a double basin. To the outside of this Gramsere home is a spacious garden with mature planting and a secluded patio with bistro table and chairs, ideal for evening drinks after a long day. Nestled in the very heart of the Lakes, Grasmere is a lovely place for a romantic break in peaceful surroundings. If you fancy an evening away from the kitchen, the Good Food Guide-listed Jumble Room is a great place for an evening meal, and the Forest Side is in walking distance for Michelin-star tastes. You'll find all the shops you need in the attractive village centre, including a convenience store and independent shops selling local treats. You'll really be able to indulge your artistic side in Grasmere, which is a former home of poet William Wordsworth; his home Dove Cottage still stands in the village and is open to the public as part of the Wordsworth Museum. A number of art galleries preserve the legacy of artists who've been inspired by the landscapes around the village - of particular note is the Heaton Cooper Studio. Venture to the bustling town of Bowness, home to the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, or take a leisurely cruise across Lake Windermere and admire the scene from a different perspective. Wisteria is a fabulous bolthole for two, whatever time of year.

Grasmere, in the Lake District National Park, was William Wordsworth's home, which he called "the loveliest spot man has found." The Wilson family has made gingerbread in Grasmere for over 60 years. The village has shops, pubs, a 13th-century church, Grasmere Lake, and Grasmere Sports, where you can watch Cumberland Wrestling. Ambleside and Lake Winderemere are 5 miles away and have shops, pubs, restaurants, and the 17th-century Bridge House, one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Lake Windermere offers cruises, boat trips, and watersports. Windermere and Keswick are nearby. Grasmere makes a great Lake District base.

Beautiful views and a short walk into grasmere. Weather not great so didn’t get to enjoy the garden as much as we would have liked as it is well thought out with multiple seating options. A lovely cosy retreat for our visit.

The property overall was fine although we hadn't realised that there was no windows in the main living area so we had to hang out in the bedroom if we wanted a view - and that was limited by the trees. The property heated up well - this was needed since it was jolly cold while we were there. However there were no logs for the log burning stove - we brought some up with us incase this was the case - but if you advertise a log burner and say fuel is included you should provide logs. We tried to get in touch before our holiday to find out if logs were provided and simply couldn't get in touch with Lakelovers - I tried on many occasions and eventually left a message for them to get back to us - still no reply. Very bad customer services - will try to avoid Lakelovers in future. If there was a real problem I have no confidence that we would have got any sort of response from them. We saw a few rats scurrying around outside the property and there was an alarming russling behind the sink so i think the owners need to address the rat situation.
