The Hidden Place in Penrith offers a tranquil and private retreat, surrounded by stunning views and local wildlife. Guests have appreciated the peaceful environment and the additional use of holiday park facilities. While some have found the furnishings and road access less satisfactory, the overall experience is one of a serene getaway.
Cleanliness has been brought into question with a specific complaint about the oven tray, suggesting attention to detail is required. However, there are no further comments to fully assess the general state of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its amazing views and privacy, contributing to a peaceful stay. The road access is a concern, but the natural beauty seems to compensate for this inconvenience.
Comfort has received mixed reviews. While some guests found the property comfortable, others mentioned issues with the bed and living room furniture. A mattress topper has been suggested to improve sleep quality.
Facilities and maintenance have room for improvement, with reports of limited TV stations, poor DVD quality, and a need for better dish cleaning materials. Internet connectivity is intermittent, and suggestions for a clothes drying solution have been made.
The welcome pack was well-received, indicating thoughtfulness, although the addition of milk was suggested. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed for every stay.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
