Guests say

Sandown is a well-received holiday cottage in Windermere, praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and ample parking. Guests appreciate the spacious living areas, well-equipped kitchen, and the convenience of en-suite bathrooms, though some find these a bit compact. The property's proximity to local amenities and attractions is frequently highlighted, and the owner's communication and responsiveness are commended. While ideal for most, guests with pets advise caution due to the lack of enclosed outdoor space.

Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting it as immaculate and well-maintained. One review mentioned a specific issue with a stained shower tray, but this was addressed by the owner and is scheduled for repair.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and attractions. The property's proximity to both Windermere and Bowness is frequently mentioned as a positive feature.

The property is generally regarded as comfortable, with spacious living areas and comfortable beds. However, some guests find the en-suite shower rooms to be on the smaller side, which slightly impacts the comfort rating.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped for guests' needs. Some guests suggest that the kitchen and some of the en-suite bathrooms could benefit from updates, and there are mixed comments about the size of the shower facilities.

The owner's thoughtfulness is evident in the communication and the provision of a welcome pack, which is mentioned in several reviews. While such gestures are appreciated, it is noted that these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Facilities within 'Sandown' are geared for families and all six of us had plenty of private space when required. Restaurants and cafes are all within walking distance which made our choice of 'going out' a pleasure. The help and communication offered by the owner was of the highest standard. Everything was in place for our arrival and any questions we had during our stay were answered promptly. We all had a wonderful stay and would recommend this property in Bowness-on-Windermere to anyone visiting the Lakes.

Great location, very short walk down the hill into Bowness or a short walk up the hill to Windemere, There is a bus stop right outside of the house which was ideal for hopping onto the open top buses ! Lots of space for parking at the property , we had three cars with us as we were a party of seven adults and a dog. There is a small park across the road which was perfect to walk the dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated !!
