Guests say

The Wonky Burrow is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location close to Bowness and Windermere. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, comfortable bed, and personal touches from the owners. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning to return.

The majority of guests found the property to be spotlessly clean and well-maintained, contributing to a high cleanliness score. One review mentioned cleanliness issues, but this seems to be an isolated case.

The location is consistently described as ideal, being a short walk from both Bowness and Windermere. Guests appreciate the convenience for exploring the area, which justifies a high score.

Comfort is frequently highlighted, with particular praise for the comfy bed and sofa. A few guests mentioned noise from upstairs and issues with heating, slightly lowering the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the modern kitchen and bathroom. Some guests noted a lack of kitchen basics and garden furniture, and there were comments about heating control, which affects the score.

Guests often mention thoughtful touches like welcome gifts and quick responses to issues. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this is reflected in the score.

This is an ideal location and the property has everything you need. Comfy bed, equipt kitchen and really characterful property that nods to the slate in the area. Very welcoming hosts who were keen to help as much as they could.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Wonky Burrow. Located in the middle of Windermere, a short walk from the shops, restaurants and lake on a quiet residential lane, the accommodation is welcoming, modern, with everything you need. Directions to the property were simple to follow, parking near the property was easy, and the small touches of a lovely bottle of UK wine, and dog treats and tennis balls for our cockerpoos was a lovely find upon arriving! Although we didn't actually meet the owners in person, Vickie was easily contactable and very helpful with any of our requests. If we visit Windermere again, we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

So cute! Perfect for us and our little for legged friend and so convenient for Bowness and all the local amenities! The owners are so lovely, when we mentioned that it was our dog’s birthday, they left a little card to congratulate him on him big day… a lovely way to escape to the lakes! N&H&P
