This lovely old farmhouse is in a super location - the quieter outskirts of the village, but it’s easy walking distance both into the main part of the village, and down to both the North and South beaches at Heacham, and a short distance from the property you will find a large village pond a few metres along the road; an ideal spot for having a sit on the benches and watching the ducks. The village of Heacham itself has many amenities such as a small supermarket, post office, and of course, several local pubs, or guests can head over to the Victorian coastal town of Hunstanton, with even more amenities and known for its distinctive stripey cliffs and ideal kite surfing opportunities. Embark on a journey under the sea at SEA LIFE Hunstanton, home to a plethora of magnificent marine life. Wander the breathtakingly beautiful Norfolk Lavender fields, offering an array of charming colours, tantalising fragrances, and fascinating tours. For nature enthusiasts, a trip to the RSPB Snettisham is essential, a wildlife haven with views to remember. History buffs will marvel at the intrigue of The Wreck Of The Steam Trawler Sheraton resting on Snettisham Beach, a stunning coastline spot for a day of sun, sand, and sea. Heacham is a large village located on the West Norfolk coastline, on The Wash, boasting a lovely family friendly sandy beach, ideal for jet skis, kitesurfing and windsurfing. The village has many cottages built from Carstone, which is a feature of this part of Norfolk, and also offers a good range of shops, restaurants and country pubs. Within walking distance is Caley Hall, home to Norfolk Lavender with its sweet smelling lavender fields, and Heacham Hall, owned by John Rolfe, who brought his young bride Pocahontas to England to live at the hall (in the local church of St Mary you will find a memorial to her). This part of Norfolk is renowned for its abundance of birdlife throughout the year, with several local rspb sites, while within easy driving distance is Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Gardens, as seen on BBC's Springwatch. Nearby Hunstanton offers traditional seaside entertainment including a sealife centre, while The Queen's Sandringham Estate is just a 15 minute drive.

    She was in constant communication from the point of booking to our departure. The house was immaculate and felt like we were the first guests in the house. Everything was very well thought out from the hot tub being prepared to the kitchen being ready. There was ample amount of wood for the fire pit so make sure you bring loads of marshmallows! We visited with 7 adults and 2 kids (aged 3 and 2). The kids were well catered for with a travel cot made available to a stair guard being in place at the bottom of the stairs. I couldn’t recommend this house anymore with no real drawbacks.

    Katie and Kevin were fantastic hosts and had thought of absolutely everything to make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble. An extensive welcome pack was provided with lovely personal touches. The house is perfect for families and pets as the garden is large and enclosed and there are so many reception rooms for large groups to spread out and relax. We particularly enjoyed days out to Holkham Beach, Sandringham, Wells-Next-The-Sea and had a lovely meal at The Orange Tree. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. 10/10

    Communication with the owner Katie was very easy and nothing was too much trouble. We are quite a boisterous bunch so hopefully we didn’t cause too much noise. We would 100% recommend this property.
