Myrtle’s Barn, named after the owner’s grandmother, is in rural Norfolk a few miles from Holt and within easy reach of Wells, Cromer and Holkham beaches. The barn, once used as a potato store on the owner’s farm has been recently converted. It is now a self-catering holiday home furnished to a very high level. It is well suited to families and friends, sleeping six people in three ensuite bedrooms with a private garden. Harold’s barn is adjacent to Myrtle’s Barn and they can be booked together for extended families or holidays with friends.
Myrtle's Barn is in Briningham in North Norfolk, close to Holt and the spectacular beaches that make this region a favourite holiday destination for so many. It sleeps six people in three ensuite bedrooms and suits families and friends. Short breaks are available outside the peak season, and discounted rates are possible for couples or smaller families who only need one or two bedrooms. Extended families and bigger groups can book Myrtle's with adjacent Harold's Barn, which has a similar layout.
The nearest place to buy groceries is four miles away in the market town of Holt, where there is a weekly farmers market on Saturday morning, a small supermarket, and independent grocers, butchers and fishmongers. Treat yourself in the superb food hall at Bakers and Larners, the Holt department store serving customers since 1770. Even closer to home, there's a great farm shop and cafe in Letheringsett. Fakenham, Aylsham, and Reepham markets are also suitable for shopping. Briningham is a peaceful village with the 13th-Century St Maurice Church in the heart of the small community.
It doesn't matter what season you stay at Myrtle's Barn, as there is always something fun to do. Family-friendly attractions include bewilderwood, the Dinosaur Adventure Park, and Pensthorpe Natural Park. Take your bucket and spade to Wells, Cromer and Holkham beaches. With 45 miles of breathtaking coastline, you'll always find a sandy spot to sit in North Norfolk.
