Guests say

2 Lock Cottages is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its peaceful location, comfort, and suitability for dog owners. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as welcoming gifts and pet-friendly amenities. The cottage is noted for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and convenient access to local walks and wildlife. While some minor maintenance issues and challenges with modern appliances are mentioned, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning return visits.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several reviews noting it as spotless and well-maintained. However, a few guests mentioned areas that could use more attention, such as windows and a dusty headboard, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to nature, and abundance of local walks, particularly for dog owners. Its rural setting and wildlife sightings contribute to its high score, despite being remote for some.

Guests find the cottage cosy and the bed exceptionally comfortable. The presence of a powerful shower and a well-stocked kitchen adds to the comfort level. Some concerns about heating and the firmness of the bed are noted but are not widespread.

The cottage is equipped with necessary facilities and some guests were pleased with the extras. Criticisms include complicated appliances and the lack of a DVD player. The absence of a secure outdoor area for dogs and some maintenance issues slightly lower the score.

While many reviews mention thoughtful gestures such as welcome gifts and provisions for pets, there is not enough information to guarantee that these are consistent offerings for all guests. Therefore, the score is set to null.

We've been before so we knew about facilities. Bed is extremely comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Tv and Wi-Fi both good. Loved the walks along Weavers Way with the dogs. Already have another trip booked at the end of the year.

It is showing signs of wear and tear therefore could do with some TLC.

Generally clean and tidy with beautifully comfortable king size bed and amazingly hot and powerful shower. We couldn’t plan for the weather and it wasn’t great but the cottage was a very comfortable to live in. We hadn’t realised that the couch was also a bed and might have opted to sleep downstairs as the stairs (steps) were a bit difficult to manoeuvre for me. That said, it was worth the climb for the bed. Very remote, but good WiFi and drains were a bit smelly. Nothing the zoflora left under the sink didn’t help with. Thanks, we enjoyed our visit but left Friday evening as it would have been a strain to get sorted and out for 10am Saturday ….and a long trip home.
