About this property

Stay at this rustic cottage in Kenninghall, a serene South Norfolk village that provides a restful retreat away from everyday life. With its two bedrooms, this traditional and characterful cottage offers a peaceful setting for small families or couples with one dog who love the great outdoors. Kenninghall makes a wonderful base for walking and cycling excursions and contains essential amenities such as a village shop and pub, both within 1 mile.

The cottage, once the home of poet and translator Oliver Bernard, has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its original character and charm. To be expected of a property of this age, the ceilings are low and the building is supported by lovely old wooden joists. You''ll enter into a super-cosy open-plan living area, with comfy seating, a Smart TV, a dining table and a wood burner contained within an exposed inglenook fireplace. Head up one step to a compact but well-equipped galley kitchen leading through to the charming rear garden. To reach the bedrooms, climb the steep and narrow staircase which leads to the master bedroom with a double bed, which connects to a second bedroom with a single bed. A family shower room completes the interior. Outside, you''ll have a lovely patio area where you can dine alfresco, along with some steps leading up to a lawned area.

Locally, you may like to visit Snetterton Race Circuit (5 miles) or lose yourself in the enchanting Thetford Forest (15 miles) The nearby market towns of Attleborough and Wymondham (7 and 13.5 miles respectively) give you a taste of traditional Norfolk life along with excellent shopping and dining options.

The cottage is delightfully quaint and set in a beautiful and peaceful village. A perfect place to "get away from it all".

Fantastic spot, amazing building. I think its now our favourite little holiday let weve been to. Very tastefully modernised to not take away from the buildings heritage and 'old cottage feel'. The heated tiles were a surprising plus! and to top it all, not a 'live laugh love' type decoration to be found, very refreshing to see (or not see) ;) 5 stars!
