Prospect House is a detached double-fronted cottage in the charming former mining village of Rookhope, County Durham. This attractive Rookhope cottage is perfect for large families or groups of friends wishing to explore this stunning region, or simply as a place to enjoy a relaxing break away. Offering tasteful decor, this cottage in Rookhope has wooden floors, a superb kitchen with large dining table and a comfortable sitting room, plus the snug room is an ideal place for children to unwind in peace with their own TV, giving the adults time on their own. There are five wonderful bedrooms at your County Durham cottage, including two with en-suite facilities, and the first floor family bathroom is perfect for soaking aching limbs after a day spent walking and exploring the rolling hills of County Durham. This striking Rookhope cottage also has a rear lawned garden with patio, so pour a long cold drink, and soak up the unique sounds of the surrounding countryside, or why not stroll along to the friendly village pub for a pint or two? The area surrounding this Rookhope cottage is perfect for walking, birdwatching, cycling and touring, and is well-positioned for trips to the Northern Lakes, historical Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and Durham City, with its magnificent cathedral. Take a trip further afield and visit Newcastle and the Metro Centre, Bowes Museum, Beamish Open Air Museum, and the magnificent Heritage Coast. This large County Durham cottage is an excellent base to discover the numerous delights of this unspoilt area.
Rookhope is a former mining village in the North Pennines. The village offers stone cottages, a shop and a pub, and it's situated close to the C2C cycle route. Close by is the market town of Stanhope, and within driving distance is Hexham, Hadrians Wall, Hamsterley Forest, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, Barnard Castle and the city of Durham.
