Guests say

Bankwell Cottage receives high praise for its attentive hosts, excellent location, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the clean, comfortable, and spacious accommodation, with special mentions of the garden and the proximity to local attractions. The passing steam train adds a unique charm. The property is dog-friendly and considered a great base for exploring the North East.

Guests consistently note the property as very clean, with only a minor mention of carpets needing a clean and some cutlery not being spotless. Overall, the high level of cleanliness contributes positively to the guests' experiences.

The location is frequently highlighted as great, with easy access to Newcastle, beaches, and local attractions. The proximity to a local pub and countryside walks is appreciated, although one review mentioned a busy road. The unique feature of the nearby steam train is a bonus for many.

Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the seating areas relaxing. There is a single mention of the twin bed mattresses potentially needing replacement, but overall, the property provides a comfortable stay.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and garden. Some guests suggested minor improvements such as additional serving spoons, a larger saucepan, and a shaver point. The mention of ongoing development could indicate maintenance work, but it does not seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.

While many reviews express gratitude for the welcome pack and gifts, it is not possible to guarantee these for future guests. The consistent mention of these thoughtful touches indicates that guests feel well-cared for during their stay.

We enjoyed our stay so much, we’ve already booked to go back! Little feedback - a grab rail for the bath and a longer shower curtain in the shower room could be useful. Otherwise it was all great.
