Guests say

Red Lion House in Northumberland receives high praise for its stunning location, spacious and well-appointed interiors, and beautiful garden. Guests appreciate the property's homeliness, the warmth of the Aga, and the variety of living spaces. The orangery and the grand piano are frequently mentioned highlights, as well as the clear night skies ideal for stargazing. The property is deemed perfect for family gatherings and celebrations, with its comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen receiving special mentions.

Guests consistently describe the house as spotless and tidy, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The property's location is celebrated for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to local pubs and the Northumberland National Park, making it ideal for both relaxation and exploration.

Reviewers find the house very comfortable, with special mentions of cosy living spaces, warm and inviting bedrooms, and the Aga adding to the overall warmth and homeliness.

The facilities, including the well-equipped kitchen, orangery, and garden, are highly praised. However, a slight issue with the showers running cold after multiple uses suggests a small deduction for maintenance.

The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, as evidenced by the welcome pack and dog treats. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We've just had a great stay at Red Lion House and we'll definitely be back! A beautiful house in a wonderful setting and stocked to the brim with everything you need; it's a wonderful location for a break. We did a long weekend with 9 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 dogs and loved the place. Fabulous walks from the door, easy access to both the stunning Northumberland coast and border country and a lovely pub just next door. Perfect in every way and definitely a 10 out of 10 from all of us. TIM WALKER

We have had the most idyllic week with all the family. The house is stunning and the garden was a dream for the little grandchildren and doggies!. Lovely pub round the corner with fab food. Would definitely come again in the future

A GREAT EXPERIENCE ALL ROUND! Our party was a group of 9 friends with our dogs and we all had a wonderful time at this lovely house - very homely and spacious with everything we really needed for our holiday. No disappointing realisation on arrival that it was not as nice as it looked on the internet, as is so often the case, and all was clean and well presented. Red Lion house is full of character, is stylish and comfortable and had more than enough space for us all. The garden was a huge bonus, especially when you have dogs, and we even had a fantastic Aurora Borialis display on two of our nights!! So great to have the pub still in such a small village (keep up the good work guys!) and there are 2 others in walking distacnce (if you like walking!) Beautiful surroundings and loads to do in the area. Would highly recommend for a large family or group of friends and would love to return sometime as we merely scratched the surface of exploring and fully utilising all the house and area had to offer. Susan and owners were all super-helpful and good at responding. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful property.
