About this property

Originally built by Lord Armstrong for the workers who were restoring the impressive Bamburgh Castle, Beach House is a wonderful Northumbrian family property painted green and with eye-catching wood-panelling. Park off-road and be welcomed into a sitting room with a woodburning stove to warm your feet, as well as a selection of sofas, a TV and tasteful décor. When stomachs start to rumble, the kitchen houses a great any amenities, all tucked away neatly into white cupboards, so why not cook a family meal and enjoy it in the dining room beside the quaint artwork and glass double doors? As the evening wears on, enjoy a refreshing shower or a long bath before settling down into one of the three bedrooms, beginning with a king-size with an additional sofa bed, an opulent room with lime furnishings, a stripy chair, a unique wooden mirror and plenty of storage. There is also the option of a double with dark blue and red décor and a twin with skylights. Outside, enjoy a coffee in the fresh air in the courtyard. Bamburgh is a fantastic coastal town where you can stock up on essentials and sample local produce at the food emporium and deli or enjoy a hot meal in one of the town’s selection of tasty eateries. Bamburgh has a spectacular castle where you can spend an afternoon exploring the grounds and learning about the local history, and from the castle you will be given expansive views of the scenery of the local area, including a fantastic sandy beach where walks and watersports are a must. Further from the property you will find more countryside walks at Seahouses and Beadnell, and the historic Holy Island. Make the ideal family holiday with a stay at Beach House.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
