Be welcomed into a wonderful sitting area, where a bold blue feature wall houses an electric fire stove, complementing the pale furniture and wooden flooring and emphasising the fantastic corner window which draws in seas of natural light and allows for brilliant views of the local castle. From here you will find a spacious kitchen outfitted with contemporary grey cupboards and boasting many amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and the spacious nature means that guests can cook together, enjoying their meal at the dining table, and overall this is a light and airy social hub for all guests to enjoy. Single-storey, you will find a lovely contemporary shower room with blue cupboards and complementary white tiles, as well as a king-size bedroom and a twin, ideal for a family. The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

House was clean and tidy and a good base to go off exploring. It wasnât without minor niggles though. Unfortunately the pint of milk in the fridge was off, and we were only provided with 1 toilet roll (had to buy more). The parking was troublesome at times. Other than that all was good.

! Not pleasant. The Cottage smelt of dog, which even as dog owners we found offensive. There was also a cracked wine glass in the cupboard. The view of the castle is impressive, however the large wooden power pylon less so. Would I rush back - no

Lovely to have a welcome pack on arrival. In a superb location with parking which is always a bonus in Bamburgh. Will definitely be booking the cottage again.
