Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Several guests found the lodge to be spotless and well-presented, while others noted areas where cleaning could be improved, such as floors and kitchenware. The majority of comments were positive, but the negative remarks slightly impacted the overall impression.

The location was highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to Bamburgh, and beautiful views of the countryside and Bamburgh Castle. Guests appreciated the easy access to beaches and local amenities. However, some felt that the description of the distance to the village was a bit optimistic.

Facilities were generally well-received, with the lodge being equipped to a high standard. Guests enjoyed the kitchen, firepit, and wildlife views. Criticisms included difficulties with the electric hob, knife sharpness, and a few maintenance issues like power outages and non-functioning bi-fold doors.

We take our 87 year old Dad with us and the high chairs made it for us as he has difficulty getting out of low sofas. Just in case you ever think about changing these for something lower in seating position. It was a key decision point for us in choosing your property over others. One other point but an important one. The lighting around the step-off the patio is not great and the stone on the edge of the gravel path is a real trip hazard due to the lighting situation. You may want to address that. Apart from the that we had a great relaxing time and thank you very much for helping us make more happy memories as Dad is really quite poorly.

A few negatives. Unfortunately, it was very cold when we arrived as the heater in the sitting room wasn’t working and we also stepped straight in to water as we entered the accommodation as the fridge was broken and leaking. The owners were very apologetic, easy to communicate with and helpful and had things fixed as soon as they could. They also delivered wood and firelighters. It’s just not ideal to have this going on during your break. The instructions for the cooker were wrong so the owner also helped with that. The details for the accommodation state that it is a stroll in to Bamburgh. This was the main reason we booked it. It is by no means a stroll in to Bamburgh, far from it. The lights in the bedrooms need replacing and the garden area is not private, meaning people just walk right in to your garden and past your bedroom window and the garden is not enclosed for dogs. Northumbria Cottages were very difficult to contact ahead of our stay.

Roomy. Some negatives: We asked for the bi-fold doors to be fixed. They said a maintenance man would come but he never did which meant we couldn’t use them which really wasn't very good at all as we’d have like that and it would have added to our holiday. The lights in bedrooms were basically useless - need proper bulbs. Would be better if the fences on patio was fully enclosed for kids and dogs. It was very very hot. Thankfully I’d bought a fan but think one or two should be provided. The hot water in tap was way too hot and needs considering for children. Otherwise a very nice stay. Lovely deco. Rooms decent size. Facilities to wash and cook were good although took us a while to work out the hob so better instructions would be good. Having a utility room was great. Views from place amazing and being in the corner meant we feel we had privacy and also good grass space for the door. Room for at least 3 cars. Very nice. Would defo stay again as all the things mentioned should be easy to fix.
