Settled into a picturesque old Vicarage, Glebe House offers accommodation for a family or group of adults, with stunning views over the church and castle of Bamburgh, Northumberland. Set over three storeys, you will find a spacious sitting room resting on the ground floor, with floral furniture, an electric fire stove and a homely countryside feel from the stone fireplace and tasteful décor. When mealtimes call, head up to the first floor where you will find a kitchen sporting many amenities and a spacious dining room with wooden roofbeams where you can enjoy a meal together, and here you will also find the bathroom. On the second floor four bedrooms await your relaxation, including three twin rooms and one double. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed at the dining area outside, with a backdrop of countryside scenery and the pretty exterior of the house. Bamburgh is a simply fantastic location with so much on offer for guests, beginning with the fantastic sandy beach where you can walk in the salty air or try out watersports. Bamburgh also has an amazing historic castle towering over the local scenery and a handful of eateries, so why not explore the history of the local area before ending your day with a hot meal and a glass of your favourite beverage? Within easy reach of the town is the fantastic island of Holy Island, with many must-visit sites, including Lindisfarne Priory, Lindisfarne Castle and Castle Point Lime Kilns, as well as two museums and many local shops and eateries. Explore the history of Northumberland with a stay at Glebe House.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

Where were the fridge shelves? Dining room table held together with duck tape. Shower and loo cramped. Not even a tea bag to welcome us. Few mugs - always a good idea to have double the number of mugs for the number of occupants. We live in an even older house and know the problems of alterations, but divided in a different way it would have made a more comfortable residence for both families. It might be helpful to indicate on the photo just how much of the house is included in the let. Few people would elect to go up and down quite so many stairs. Not recommended for those with elderly/infirm relatives or those with very young children.

Host was very pleasant and approachable. There are a few details we feel should be added to listing. There are a lot of stairs as the property is split over four floors not three as is stated in the listing. The property is not the entire house but an extension on the side. The garden is shared with two other properties. Cot and dining room table were broken. Table was held together with gaffer tape. The wifi is patchy and can't be relied on.
