Islestone Cottage in Berwick-upon-Tweed is highly praised for its prime location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy bedrooms, and the property's suitability for dogs. The thoughtful touches by the owner, including a welcome gift, are well-received, although such gestures are not guaranteed. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, the property offers a warm and welcoming stay with easy access to local amenities.
The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments on minor issues such as a shower slipmat needing replacement. The overall impression is of a high standard of cleanliness.
The location is frequently highlighted as excellent, being close to the town centre, shops, public transport, and historical walks. Its proximity to both Scotland and England is also appreciated.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy and warm. The living room, despite being described as dated, is still considered comfortable. The property is also well-received for its dog-friendly accommodations.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good communication amenities. However, some guests mention the need for garden improvements, non-slip mats, and minor maintenance such as tap and window issues.
While guests mention a welcome gift and positive interactions with the property owner, there are not enough reviews referencing consistent thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such personal touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.
