Loanview is a well-received cottage in Northumberland, praised for its beautiful garden, paddock for dogs, and warm hospitality from hosts Jim and Pamela. Guests appreciate the secure outdoor space for pets, the cosy wood burner, and the tranquil setting. While most found the cottage comfortable and well-equipped, a few noted areas for improvement in kitchen facilities and maintenance.
The majority of guests reported the cottage as clean, with one mentioning a 'fusty' smell and cobwebs. However, the positive remarks on cleanliness, including the praise for lovely bed linen, suggest a high standard overall.
There are no specific reviews detailing the location in relation to local amenities or attractions, hence a score cannot be accurately provided.
Guests found the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood burner. However, one guest mentioned damp clothes and a fusty bedroom, slightly lowering the score.
While the garden and paddock are highlights, several guests experienced issues with kitchen appliances and hot water. These maintenance concerns impact the score, despite the positive comments on the wood burner and secure garden.
The hosts' hospitality is frequently mentioned, with specific reference to a chilled bottle of Prosecco on arrival. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed for all stays.

Andrew
A cosy cottage with all that you need for both Humans and dogs ! The log burner was extremely welcome as the nights have got colder. Jim and Pam are the perfect hosts and made sure everything was just right. The enclosed garden in itself was wonderful knowing you could let your dogs out and know they could not escape. To top it off with a large paddock area for your dogs to run and play was just fantastic. 'Jims' cabin in the garden afforded a relaxing time for both us and the dogs. Don't expect it to be a 'showhome' it isn't, however a welcoming cosy cottage it is. Well done Jim and Pam. Andrew and Wendy Boyland , and Penny and Suzie Our Loveable staffies.

A very pleasant garden and summerhouse and superb enclosed paddock to play with your dog. The owner was lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend Loanview.

On arrival cottage looked lovely had a tour by Jim afterwards we realised that the bedroom had a fusty smell all the time cobwebs behide the bed and our clothes where always damp after being in that room as for the kitchen the oven didn't work wasn't cooking food at right temp so Jim got someone to come and look at it which didn't really help the situation cause the man said it needed a thermostat I will come back a week later we will be gone by then then the dishwasher didn't work or the toaster so we reported that and was told they would come the next morning to look at it but they cancelled and never turned up we tired having a bath but the water was cold only filled the bath with a third of warm water it was one thing after another the cottage definitely needs improving especially the kitchen so if u wanna go away and not cook anything or wash the pots u will be fine the only bonus of the cottage was the log fire that was nice every night also if u want to relax in the garden or summerhouse u couldn't cause the owner kept walking around the back of the garden banging in his garage or doing gardening so when we let our dogs out they would bark at him it was normally at 730 am as well don't know why someone wants to potter around a garden at that time is beyond me as he said our dogs where vishious cause they where barking which upset me cause they where only protecting me and the property but as soon as I called them they went back into the cottage definitely wouldn't go again and cannot understand why no one else has complained about these issues not good cause this is just basic issues that should have be resolved before we went or while we where there
