This is a superb beach for rock pooling, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and windsurfing, or simply find a sand dune for a picnic to watch some sailing. Follow the coastal path, past the scenic golf course, to Seahouses to enjoy a boat trip to see puffins and seals on the Farne Islands (the harbour is 2.3 miles away), or head to Bamburgh s fabulous beach and castle (5.4 miles). Walking south you will discover Dunstanburgh Castle (9 miles), Embleton Beach (6 miles), and Low Newton (6 miles) where a drink and lunch in the beachside pub beckons, while a short drive inland takes you to Alnwick Castle (13.4 miles).
