Garden hedge very overgrown so difficult walking up path and entering gate. Patio area in need of a tidy up and front door either needing repaired or replaced. The outer front door is meant to automatically lock once you are inside as there is no way to physically do this but it didnât work. Bathroom was extremely dusty as were all the skirting boards, we had to wash all the cutlery and cutlery tray as all a bit grubby. One day I went to use frying pan but again had to wash as was all greasy. There is a washer/dryer in kitchen but for people like me who like to hang out their washing no rope or whirly was provided. Duvet in bedroom was far too heavy for this time of year which was a pity as bed was actually very comfortable. Unfortunately out of the 3 windows in the property you are only able to open one in the living room as no key was provided to open the other 2. Every morning the windows especially in the bedroom were covered in condensation which maybe accounts for the black mould on the inside window frames as no fresh air getting in. TV was great and unlike some other places we have rented was a fantastic size. I found the sofa very comfortable but my husband who is just under 6ft tall and in his late seventies found it far to low and difficult to get up from. Beadnell itself is a great place to stay and this was our second visit to a Sykes cottage and we will visit the area again.
