East Farm Croft is a well-regarded cottage in Embleton, appreciated for its beautiful presentation, cosy warmth, and excellent location close to amenities and beaches. Guests have enjoyed the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the secure garden, particularly dog owners. The property's charm and the village's friendliness are frequently mentioned, making it a desirable holiday spot.
Cleanliness scores are mixed, with several guests finding the property well-kept, while others reported issues with dirt, dust, and maintenance. Some guests experienced cleanliness issues severe enough to require intervention during their stay, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to local amenities, fantastic beaches, and walks. The village of Embleton is described as friendly, adding to the appeal of the property's setting.
Guests generally find the property comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere, comfortable beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. However, some guests mentioned issues with heating and the comfort of the mattresses, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are generally seen as good, with a special mention of the Aga cooker. However, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as problems with locks, showers, and heating, indicating that while the facilities are appreciated, there is a need for better upkeep.
There is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness accurately. While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, the contents and consistency of these gifts are not clear, and it is not guaranteed that future guests will receive the same.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. Very clean and tidy when we arrived. All the basics required to start your holiday provided. Few minor points/suggestions: No padlock on gate as mentioned in joining instructions. No coat hooks! Could really do with something like this just inside the cottage for coats, towels and dog leads. We didnât need it but perhaps someone not used to a log burner might appreciate more directions on how to use. Also there needs to be a proper fire glove provided, not the extremely holey two fingered one left. Crockery was a right mismatch. Not enough to fill the dishwasher (which had no cutlery box) so had to be put on more regular than should. Corkscrew is broken and needs replacing. A suggestion book in the accomodation might let managing company resolve issues more quickly? Overall a fabulous stay, now I just have to buy an Aga for home as my wife fell in love with the one in the property.

Yard area was secure for out small dog. The Greys Inn pub was very acceptable. Jigsaw puzzles were a nice addition on those wet days. Downstairs bed mattress is not comfortable. There was plenty of cutlery. Scissors although they cut are broken. We took our own coffee machine as one was not provided Excellent dishwasher . Aga could have been set to cooking level as it did start to cool off in the area. Lounge/ kitchen area nice and that is the best part of rental . We had a lovely stay and would go back as long as the mattress was replaced.

The pictures do the cottage justice. It is immaculate, contemporary and a real home from home. We had visitors throughout the week over for drinks as family were renting cottages nearby and both sets of parents visited separately and stayed in the 2nd bedroom which is ideal with a walk in shower. Equipped with a washing machine, washing line (maybe could do with a few more pegs?) it was a pleasure to live there for the week and we were sad to leave! Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in beautiful Embleton, which we visit frequently. We look forward to returning in the future.
