The delightful village of Felton is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north. The village has a shop with a post office, coffee shop, pub and restaurant, and is just 10 miles from Alnwick, with its Castle and now famous Garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the "Harry Potter" films! Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.

Main bathroom bath tap not very clean and shower head the same. Noticed lots of cobwebs in both bathrooms and high up in the living room(so whoever cleans ) doesnât vacuum these up. The garden space was ok but I had to remove a dead bird before my dogs could get to it. So safe to say we never used the showers or bath or hot tub for that matter. On the first morning we both were itching from the bed so made the decision to pack up and return home so we will not be returning to Starwood again. I did let the owner know when he rang me about an electrician been sourced for the light so overall not a very good experience and for the price we paid NOT good valueâ¦Doubt we will get any money back and if not(lesson learnt)..

You wouldnât know you were on a leisure park once you walk through the gate. The lodge is stunning, everything you need and much more. The private grounds are perfect for all the family - especially the dogs. Hot tub to boot, which is maintained daily. Located as a perfect base for exploring Northumberland. We will definitely be back at Starwood.

There are obviously some issues with the water supply on site. We were unable to utilise the showers early mornings as the tanking system used apparently has had a fault for some time with no or very little water pressure. With Starwood itself there was an issue with the main toilet. We were unable to flush. The owner was advised but he was unable to arrange a fix. As this was an issue I was forced to undertake a repair. It wasn't difficult but not what I was looking to do. In addition the outside space could do with a bit of care and attention as it wasn't really condusive for outside entertainment, and I believe the site has banned the use of BBQ,s. Finally a little more attention to the general cleaning of the cabin would not go amiss or cleaning under the beds as an example. Sorry to go on but the cabin has the potential to be excellent and we had a very good holiday. Regards Marguerite and Ken
