Guests say

Guests consistently praise The Granary for its comfort, cleanliness, and idyllic farm setting. Hosts Alison and John are commended for their hospitality. The property is well-equipped and offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful views, making it an ideal base for exploring Northumberland. The presence of animals adds charm for many visitors.

Reviews frequently highlight the cleanliness of The Granary, with guests expressing satisfaction with the well-kept farmyard and the tidy condition of the property upon arrival.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, proximity to Rothbury, and ease of access to Northumberland's attractions. The farm setting and views are particularly appreciated, although the bumpy access track is noted.

The Granary is described as cosy and comfortable, with effective central heating and a log burner adding to the atmosphere. The provision of a welcome pack and the quality of the beds are mentioned positively, although there is a minor note about the shower height for taller individuals.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property being equipped with necessary appliances and a wood burner. The mention of a patchy WiFi connection suggests a slight deduction in the score for maintenance.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome packs, including wine and fresh eggs, and their attentiveness to guests' needs. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed.

About this property

Perched on the edge of Rothbury, Northumberland, is the charming cottage, The Granary, which rests on a traditional farm; a fantastic place to take young children to stay in a fun, animal environment. Off-road parking greets you on arrival, climb out the car and take in the glorious surroundings of Addycombe Farm, where you will hear cockerels crowing and the noise of lambs inviting you to this rural abode. The home boasts an open-plan space, with beamed ceilings, Velux windows, and stone walls to mirror the countryside exterior of the dwelling, where you are encouraged to relax with the warm tones of the décor. Stepping through the property, you will find an amply-equipped kitchen where you can prepare heart-warming meals for your family as they gather around the table and plan a diverting itinerary for the days ahead. Unwind in the sitting area, as the glow of the fire gently lights up the room and allow yourself to relax on the sofa and escape reality with the TV, where you can snuggle up together and afterwards share a beautiful view of the vast hills from the Juliet balcony, which is also a great place for your morning coffee. When sleep calls, travel through the open space to locate the enclosed bathroom and indulge in a leisurely soak before choosing from a sumptuous double bed or plush twin beds; make yourself a hot chocolate and snuggle into bed with a compelling book. In the morning, travel down the steps and enjoy a cup of tea on the outdoor furniture, where you can immerse yourself in this rural way of life before taking the young ones to have a closer look at some wonderful animals. Take a short stroll to the nearby Italian restaurant for some fine dining or visit The Queens Head for a traditional British cuisine.
